What does an Airalo eSIM plan come with?
• An Airalo package comes with data (e.g., 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, etc.) valid for a specified time period (e.g., 7 days, 15 days, 30 days, etc.). If you run out of data or your validity period expires, you can top up your eSIM or download a new one right from the Airalo app.
How much does it cost?

Does an eSIM come with a number?

Superior convenience vs conventional SIMs
I bought an Airalo global eSIM for travel in US and Canada on the recommendation of our friends who live in Canada and travel extensively. It was a little complicated to set up but worked a treat and, compared to prepaid SIM cards, which my husband purchased from the airport as a direct comparison, is much more reasonably priced. There is no fiddly manipulation of a SIM card in and out of the mobile phone and it remains installed and ready for activation for the next time I travel. The next trip will be to France, where I struggled with an Orange account reactivation during my previous visit. I wonder why Singapore operators like Starhub and Singtel, have not yet adopted this more convenient methodology? Hopefully they will catch up soon.

Simply does not work
I really wanted to like Airalo. When it works it’s great, but when it doesn’t it’s a real headache. Me and my wife used the app 3 times. It worked once. Both other times, the eSIM was correctly installed but failed to activate. The only thing you can do is contact tech support, for which you need an internet connection (which you don’t have, because your eSIM didn’t activate). So here you are, after landing in a foreign country, chasing an internet connection to access tech support to activate your eSIM. Once you manage to find internet, it’s a never-ending series of questions and screenshot sending. In one case the problem was solved in about an hour. The other time the problem was not solved after 90 minutes. I gave up and had to run buy a physical SIM card. I was promised a refund which I haven’t seen yet (apparently Airalo needs 30 days to reverse a transaction). The whole Airalo experience is a major waste of time, and stressful because you don’t know if it’s going to work until you try to activate at your destination. Airalo simply does not deliver.

Great app when it works but terrible customer support when it doesn’t
I’ve been a super user for them (have used them for over 20 trips) and it worked great until once it didn’t. I paid for the SIM card but I wasn’t able to activate it. So I’m without internet abroad. When I contact their customer service I have to wait 2-3 hours for copy pasted responses and no help what so ever. If I pay for something and you can’t deliver, then at least reimburse me and I’ll find another provider
Update: they solved the issue the next day after a long back and forth. Given it’s still a great app updated the score, but I hope that this won’t happen again
