Glad to see investment into Evernote once more

I’ve been a long time user of Evernote. Maybe since it first started. So it holds a lot of memories for me and my family, literally. Then as the world and productivity and collaboration products evolved, it was frustrating to see Evernote fall behind. Mobile expert was terrible and had problems syncing. The effort of migration delayed my switch to other platforms. But we almost did and really seriously did comparisons. But still delayed. Now, it’s finally caught up.
If Evernote continues to focus on a delightful user experience rather than keeping up with the Joneses, I’m sure it will continue to stay in my list of go-to apps

Annoying prompt to upgrade plan and now limits you severely to 1 notebook and 50 notes and 1 device

Every now and then the app will prompt you to take advantage of some promotion offer to upgrade to a subscription plan. I have already dismissed it so many times and accepted the warning that I won’t be able to enjoy the promotion offer anymore, yet I am still prompted to upgrade my plan which is extremely annoying! Stop this please! 1 star until it’s fixed.

Wow just had this limit imposed on my account in Jan 2024 where I can only have 1 notebook and 50 notes. What a ridiculous limitation. Fast forward to 6th Aug 2024, there’s a further restriction to be able to only connect 1 device at a time which basically cripples any real time sync between 2 devices (which was already previously crippled from unlimited devices syncing).

Have used Evernote for many years but sadly I will be moving on to other note app like Amplenote. Greedy company. If I can give negative rating it will be negative 5 stars.

Has been working great until the latest update (v10.0.3)

Evernote has been a fantastic way to create and manage notes, with great offline support that most other competitors do not offer for its Premium subscription. The latest update has been a major overhaul, and I appreciate some of the improvements. However, there is one major issue:

Had been a great fan of the annotation feature for PDFs but with the recent update, this has all gone to rubbish. It’s non-intuitive to access the feature (must enter “edit” mode before clicking on the PDF file then clicking on the “@“ symbol), horrendously laggy, you can’t zoom, annotations sometimes don’t register (likely due to the lag) and you can’t scroll through pages continuously (have to open a sidebar to select pages one by one). Overall a massive downgrade in user experience in this area, I must say.
