* Permissions for using NAVER Maps
- Location: Used to show your location on the map so you can get directions and use navigation.
- Microphone: Used for voice search and Clova voice commands.
- Camera: Used for suggesting edits to place information, verifying MY Place receipts, providing AR directions, scanning QR codes, and verifying passports.
- Contacts: Used to make calls with Clova voice commands and to save phone numbers from place search results.
- Photos: Used to select photos for suggesting edits to place information and writing MY Place reviews.
- Motion & Fitness: Used to detect steps for AR directions and walking directions.
- Notifications: Used to send important notices, events, and promotional information.
- Allow Tracking: Used to deliver content and ads that match your interests and to limit inappropriate ads.
Naver map is quite good if you only use it to look for restaurants, places you want to go or metro stations which is outlined in the map. But they dont show you any directions so you just have to slowly make your way there without any instructions. I dont know why are randomly getting suspended but i think as long as you follow the terms and conditions you should be just fine.
Better than KakaoMap for tourists

The main reason Naver Map ia better for tourists is because they have both English and Korean language that can switch effortlessly. This is important because some local signage are only in Korean, and there is no way to corroborate the signage if maps are only in English. An example of such map is KakaoMap.
Account got suspended with no notification

Naver maps suspended my account without any notification, citing the account joined from an abuse-suspicious location. Repeated attempts to validate the account was unsuccessful. This issue affects other users and Naver maps was unable to provide a proper workaround. All bookmarks saved in the app is now unrecoverable. I strongly recommend against using the app and the rating of the app (2.8 stars at time of writing) suggests other users feel the same way.

So far I’m enjoying the app, instructions are clear and they are easy to navigate! Not sure why the rating is bad because this is really one of the better app that integrates the map of Seoul and subway + directions to get to places!
