I have been with them for about 7++ years way way way back before vpn was considered mainstream. Way before they released their first IOS app. Use it on the pc mainly. I think back then the average mobile user dont even know what is VPN or even before netflix streaming was born. Nobody outside the US knows what is netflix. Back then VPN subscription was only $1.99 per month. Only last year that i got active using hotspot shield again and i was pleasantly surprised to see my subscription even though now was under free account, it was not tied with ads and i didn’t even have a quota!! Think this is their way of saying thanks to old and loyal customers who stuck with them throughout the years! Thanks Hotspot Shield!!

To anyone that downloads this and is wondering if it works, I can gladly say it works!But I have been issuing some bugs that the VPN disconnects randomly even though I did not turn off my phone or turn it off myself. So hope the devs can fix this problem but other than that, I totally recommend it.

I want to comment on the login screen of this app. This app focuses entirely on getting new customers, while existing customers need to search for the ‘sign in’ option to login. The entire page explains the plans for new customers. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app while I was searching for the login option. This is not a one time thing, all their versions, be it for phone, iPad or browser, all have the login option somewhere hidden down at the page and users struggle to sign in. Why are you guys so ignorant about existing customers? If your app/ website design doesn’t cater to show a clear sign in option, I’ll have to think before I renew my contract with you again.

Got charged for a supposed 7 day trial

Here’s what happened: I re-downloaded the app again after a long while and was presented with a 7 day free trial screen. Since I haven’t used the service in a while, I wasn’t sure if the service changed and assumed I was getting a free trial again. I tapped on the free trial and admittedly didn’t look carefully at the Touch ID details screen, and inadvertently approved the purchase for a one month charge, which I didn’t intend. I would appreciate it if the developer could change the screen to prevent confusion over the matter. I already got refunded by Apple over the unintended charge so I’m good.
