So far I am happy with this apps, I been use it for years (maybe 5 years - since it was scribd) - however past years the amount of audiobooks just too way too much, and new books often or maybe almost all in audiobook. I hope there is always ebook version of any books. My preference is always ebook.
Can’t adjust margins of ebooks

I love being able to access ebooks and audiobooks which aren’t accessible at my local library on Scribd.The app works wonderfully for audiobooks, and being able to control the playback on the Apple Watch makes it very convenient to listen.However, for ebooks, the reading experience is subpar. The margins of ebooks are much too wide. They can’t be adjusted because they are fixed, which makes the text block too narrow to read comfortably on an iPad mini. Rotating from portrait to landscape mode doesn’t solve this problem either because it forces a two column layout. There is no way to switch to a single column layout. Because of these limitations, I rarely read ebooks. It’s not a pleasant experience.Scribd team, please add options to customise margins and layouts of ebooks! That would vastly improve the reading experience.***Add-on after 2 years since my original review:It’s 2025, and this issue still hasn’t been resolved. I recently decided to give Everand another go now that they’ve rebranded. My hope that this rebrand would come with improvements to user experience. Sad to say, this isn’t the case. The inability to adjust margins makes it very difficult for me to focus on reading ebooks, so I can’t recommend subscribing until that’s addressed.

“ FREE TRIAL” SCAM COMPANY

As other customers who have expressed their shock at the fraudulent nature of this company on review website Sitejabber, I was utterly disappointed at the exploitative nature of this company. Under the pretext of “ free trial”, they have wrongly charged my credit card for 5 payments this year, when I DID NOT subscribe at all! When proceed to ask for refunds, they only agreed to refund 3, for which it is “out fo courtesy” as “no refunds can be made for payments beyond 30 days”. Imagine knowing that customers will not detect the wrong charges and creating a refund policy that prevents customers to claim their money back- this fraudulent policy is what is sustaining this unethical company. It is completely unfair that Customers have to bear the consequences of the company’s unethical services. PLEASE beware of this app and NEVER put in your credit card details.

Killer service, buggy app

If you read, research, and like to shave a little off your book purchase totals, get Scribd. It doesn’t just get you buffet access to a fantastic spread of books, it also hosts audiobooks and PDFs (user made commentaries, book summaries, etc). I still love browsing at the physical library, but Scribd has brought the might of on-demand convenience to bear on my book needs.The app has gotten a bit more unpredictable though. “View all books” does not work. Pages disappear then reappear — I’ve skipped them without knowing. I love the service, and am eager to see the app fixed.
