Love being a Ghostie. Been using the app for a year or so and just bought the 3 year subscription - after a final review of other VPNs like ProtonVPN, ExpressVPN, etc of course, but none really compare. Speeds are great, security & privacy almost unparalleled, "always on" works perfectly, 7 devices is very generous, and the widget is a handy little thing as well, not to mention the easy-to-use (dare u say sexy & fun?) UI. Couldn't recommend it more to VPN beginners & veterans alike 👏
Ineffective and poor customer service

I subscribed to CyberGhost VPN in preparation to go China for a few weeks. However, in China the VPN did not work at all despite all troubleshooting.While in China, CyberGhost VPN was not contactable due to the firewall, so there were no assistance provided, which I understand. From then on I set my mind for a cancellation and a full refund when I’m out of China. I was indeed disappointed at CyberGhost VPN but I understand how some service can be ineffective at times. The one thing that disappointed me the most was the service and policy handling on a case to case basis. The refund policy states that a full refund can only be issued 14 days after activation, however, I stayed more than 14 days in China, which CyberGhost VPN not contacted in China, how can I request for a refund and cancellation? The customer service did not assist in my case to get a refund from CyberGhost VPN, but instead pushed the refund to App Store, expecting me contact App Store from the refund instead. The ineffectiveness of this VPN already brought me headaches for my trip in China, not being able to access my work materials nor connect with my friends and family, in addition to that, the customer service did not have empathy at all to go through my case. All in all, I’m not sure how CyberGhost works in other countries, but it surely doesn’t work in China. The service is poor too.
Stuck at connecting step

I liked this app. For Wifi it is okay. When I set automatically connect for 3G/4G networks, it occasionally gets stuck at the starting up screen; even if I turn off the VPN on the iphone setting it still is stuck there and worst thing is all my other apps cannot use data. Reboot phone also doesn't get me out of it. Please get this right. [Follow up: the problem was solved probably after one of the updates. Adjusting to 4 star. Still occasionally need to re-enter login info].

I have been using CyberGhost for more than 2 years now. Jus renewed VPN for another 2 years and have been quite satisfied with everything so far. However, just one slight issue is that the widget for iPhone somehow doesn’t seem like it’s optimised properly. Really appreciate it if it could be fixed soon. Has been awhile already. *Update 1 year in and the widget in iPhone is still not optimised properly. Hope there will be an update soon to fix this. A very easy fixed but still not fixed after more than a year…
