# Subscription and Terms
PeakWatch is available for free with the option to upgrade to PeakWatch PRO with an auto-renewing subscription. You may switch off auto-renew in your Apple ID Account Settings.
Purchases of PRO subscriptions will be charged using your Apple ID upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew on a monthly or yearly frequency unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If canceled, subscriptions remain valid until the end of the current period, and any unused portions are not valid for a refund.
PeakWatch reads data from HealthKit. All health data is stored and processed locally on your device.

Thought the app was pretty good during the trial and just went to get a year’s subscription. Well, this app loves changing data / data type / computation standards every several month, which makes it very hard to keep track of progress across a longer (>3 month period) Case in point, at the start, my “fitness” (CTL) index was going up to 50+, then the stat suddenly crashed to 0 after an update. 2 months later, it went back up to where it used to be, and as of dec 2025, the stats have crashed once more and I’m “rebuilding” from 0 again. Totally random numbers that fall and shoot up following an app update, I doubt these stats are now reliable in any shape or form. I like the fact that there’s new statistics every now and then for me to understand my performance, but again, somethings just didn’t make sense eg my “bio age” was based on a blend of different aspect of fitness, compared with the average of those at my age, and then +/- from my actual age. I’m 32 but it says my bio age is 22? I’ve no idea if this is the industry standard of calculating bio age but this seems really off for me. Worst of all, I DMed them on IG to ask about the inconsistent stats and got ignored. I’m unlikely to continue after this year’s sub ends.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback.Some metrics (such as CTL and Bio Age) may be recalibrated when our algorithms are updated. These updates are developed together with professional sports and health consultants to improve scientific accuracy and long-term reliability. In certain cases, recalibration can temporarily reset or re-baseline values so future tracking is more meaningful.That said, your experience is important to us.
