Who should count the baby's movements and why?
The baby's activity usually peaks around 32 weeks, then decreases as the baby grows and has less room to move in the womb. Feeling regular movements is a sign that the baby is doing well. If the mother notices a clear decrease in movements, it may be a warning sign. That is why, from 28–30 weeks until delivery, obstetricians and gynaecologists often recommend tracking fetal movements as one way to monitor the baby's condition.
