Hyper Light Drifter drops you into a world ravaged by a costly war. Once teeming with technology, the land is now overgrown—and a sickly Drifter is running out of time to find a cure.

From lush green fields to gleaming, crystallized forests, Hyper Light Drifter’s achingly beautiful environments are packed with challenges. Monsters lurk everywhere, but the Drifter is armed with guns and a trusty sword. Cut down beasts to refill ammo. Once you get the hang of the swordplay, you’ll be a lean, mean counterattacking machine.

The Drifter is also a speedster, able to dash away from danger in a split second. That’s useful for crossing platforms, leaping over steep drops, and fleeing from risky fights.

But help is hidden throughout Hyper Light Drifter’s world. A careful traveler will seek out critical upgrades for their sword, gun, and dash abilities to unlock slick combos. (You’ll need those moves for tough arena battles and boss encounters.) There’s more to this adventure than fighting, however. In this post-apocalypse, you’ll meet other wanderers whose memories tell a thoughtful tale.
