This air-travel concierge monitors departure and arrival times, nudges you when you should head to the airport, tells you all about the plane you’re on, and shows you exactly where you are on the runway.
What we love: The data-driven intel that makes flying so much smoother. Starting 25 hours before your trip, Flighty starts monitoring potential delays and connection statuses, and it even displays a chart of your flight’s on-time performance over the past 60 days. Just enter your itinerary by forwarding airline confirmation emails to a dedicated address or syncing your calendar with the app. Plus, add loved ones as Flighty Friends to receive updates on their flight status, landing time, and more.

Quick tip: The app analyzes vast amounts of real-time aviation data to alert you when your flight is likely to be delayed—in some cases hours before your airline notifies you. Flighty also explains the reason behind any delays, such as late-arriving aircraft, inclement weather, or a mandatory ground stop.
Meet the creator: Flighty was launched in 2019 by three self-described “flight nerds” who’ve now logged 1.8 million miles. “Everybody has a person in their group who knows flights; I was that person,” says founder Ryan Jones. “Friends would text me things like, ‘Hey, I’m stuck in New Orleans, can you help?’ No one asks me anymore, so I think that means the app is working.”
