Rebel Girls

Inspiring Stories of Women

View

Loaded with immersive audio stories, exclusive interviews, and original illustrations, this Apple Design Award winner introduces kids to amazing women who have shaped our world.

What we love: Learning about famous figures like Frida Kahlo and Ruth Bader Ginsburg as well as change-makers like math prodigy Esther Okade and free climber Luo Dengping. Each 10-to-20-minute audio story is accompanied by an original illustration; to date, the app has collaborated with more than 400 female or nonbinary artists across 50 countries.

Rebel Girls celebrates, elevates, and inspires—giving girls confidence to help bring about a more equitable world.

Quick tip: Check out the Rebel Activities section for guided-drawing fun. Sketch constellations while you listen to the story of astronomer Hypatia of Alexandria, or doodle your own garden while you hear the tale of environmental activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai.

Meet the creator: “Rebel Girls exists because there is a gap in the market for girls through every lens that you can imagine,” CEO Jes Wolfe says. Journalist Elena Favilli founded the company in 2016 to bring real-world role models to girls.
