Very buggy app

I have been a long time contributor and user to Happy Cow but it’s disappointing how neglected this app is and how full of errors.

First, it always shows all restaurants as closed. No matter the time of day or if the restaurant is actually open. This is likely due to bad date handling in the app. For reference my calendar in iOS is set to Thai calendar and secondary calendar is the Chinese calendar.

Second it incorrectly lists many place as “cash only” just because they don’t take credit cards. But if you go to these places they almost always take PromptPay and so are not cash only. There are more options than just credit cards and cash. Just because a place doesn’t take credit cards doesn’t mean it is cash only. Should list all payment methods. Especially popular ones like PromptPay.

Third, if you sign up for alters about new restaurants in your city, it gives you alerts for your whole country. For example, I like in Bangkok and I get alerts for Chiang Mai. That just makes no sense and adds a lot of noise.

Fourth, the location search and search by distance don’t work. It always picks some random place to centre your search on. That is often 1-2km from where you are. So the distance is off by a lot for any restaurant.

The app and community could be so much better and useful with these fixes.
