Ignores user settings, infested with trivial content

Impossible to turn off autoplay. Whenever I have written about this, they say they're working on the problem. This goes back to years. Uses a massive amount of battery power. The paper itself is riddled with ridiculous summaries of TikTok videos and badly researched articles on health topics. Even the obituaries are rife with tributes to inane influencers and extremely minor people, in an apparent attempt to pander to women that is in fact insulting to us. Meanwhile, they leave out some far more culturally and otherwise significant men, which does not do the cause of celebrating women who have made important contributions any favors. Two of the top three articles today in the business section are about a woman getting calls about a fictitious lost cat when someone published her number on a T-shirt and some conservative influencer, who according to the blurb, wants to "make her own goop". As a woman, I find their algorithm insulting. My entire home page is infested with straight out of the 1950s women's home & family ghetto of newspapers, despite the fact that every single day, I ignore these articles and go digging news on business and markets. I compared my newsfeed to that of a man in the gym who does not even read the business and investment news and the news curated on his home page had far less of this garbage. It is insulting and regressive. Et vos, Ochs-Sulzberger clan?To an investor, the New York Times is not particularly useful, so it's fine, whatever. I only still have the paper because of a cheap old subscription. If they raise the price, I'm out.
Annoying moderation of comments section

Why do comments have to be approved first. WSJ doesn't have this restriction
Terrible User Interface

NYT mobile website is very easy for readers to navigate between different sections by tapping top left three-line button. While NYT mobile app has a totally different design from its mobile website—I can’t even find the world news section. Why the developer team uses a different interface which seems to let users “DIY” what they prefer to read. It actually confuses me a lot. The stupid design is not convenient at all!
This version has general bug fixes and improvements.
