Photos in checklists and financial records open inside the app Tapping one used to bounce you out to a browser, which felt like the app had thrown you out. It now opens in the app, and you can swipe between the other photos on the same screen.

Share files into ChidChat from any app Open a photo, a document or a link anywhere, tap Share and pick ChidChat, then choose the chats it goes to. Several at once is fine, and the file is uploaded only once however many chats receive it. A shared link is sent for you rather than waiting in the message box. This build also fixes the root cause that left several share paths dead, and a share now arrives while the app is already open.

Also fixed: choosing a file from Google Drive sometimes said "you're offline" on a phone with a full signal. The system pauses ChidChat while you are away picking, and on the way back the app said so before it had finished reconnecting. It waits now. The @ mention list no longer gets hidden on small screens.

Mention people in a group with @ Type @ in a group chat and the member list opens above the box. A tagged name is bold, underlined and coloured, and tapping it opens that person's chat - adding them as a contact if new. Whoever you named is notified even if they muted the group. Choose "everyone" to reach the whole room. A mention is tied to the person, not the words, so it still points at the right member after a rename. Also fixed: the list no longer gets cut off at large text sizes.

Verify your email before linking a phone number From this version an account needs a verified email address before a phone number can be linked, and an account can no longer be created from a phone number alone. The reason is that Thai mobile numbers really do get recycled. If a number is an account's only way in, the day that SIM changes hands its previous owner is locked out for good, and we would have no way to tell them what happened. A verified email is your way back in. The phone screen can now resend the verification email, so you can confirm your address without leaving it. Account recovery by email works exactly as before.

iPhone group call audio On iPhone a group call came out of the loudspeaker from the moment it started, and could not be switched to the earpiece. A one-to-one call on the same handset started at the earpiece and switched to the speaker normally. The cause was that a group call never told the phone's own call system that a call was in progress, the way a one-to-one call does. The device's audio was therefore never put into conversation mode, and the output picker had no effect either, because a request to change the audio output does not take hold until the phone's call system has started the call. It does now. Sound starts at the earpiece and you can switch to the speaker or a headset like any other call. Joining a group call still does not make any other member's phone ring. The invitation card in the chat works exactly as before.

Delete a message from your own screen Press and hold any message, including one somebody else sent, and choose "Delete for me". It disappears from your screen alone — everyone else in the room still sees it normally. Until now only the sender could delete anything, so a message you did not want on your screen stayed there until its author removed it. Your own messages can still be deleted for everyone, exactly as before. Better link checking Links typed without https:// in front of them are now checked too. They were not treated as links at all before, so nothing was screened and no badge appeared. Shortened links that hide their destination are followed, and the site they really lead to is shown before you decide whether to open it. The following is done by our server, not your phone, so the destination never sees anything about your device. Five missing English translations fixed.

Photos in chat, much faster An image card used to download the entire file before it could show anything, so a large photo left an empty frame for several seconds. A small preview now loads first, and tapping it opens the full file exactly as it was sent. Opening a photo shows it immediately instead of a blank screen, then sharpens once the full image arrives. Less data used Re-opening a chat used to download every photo again. They are now kept and reused. This applies to every photo, including ones already sent before this update. Link safety Links we do not recognise are checked before they open. The "Safe" badge now appears only for sites we have verified — an unchecked link carries no badge at all. Shortened links that hide their real destination are flagged before you open them.

• A small photo can now be zoomed to fill the screen, instead of being confined to the box it opened in. • The member count on a group's header updates as soon as someone is added or removed.

• A new logo and app icon everywhere, including the start-up screen. • The notification icon in the status bar is now the logo, instead of the plain white square it used to be.

Fixed incoming calls that could arrive with no ring and no notification at all, most often when the app had been closed or the screen was locked. A missed call now updates the incoming-call banner instead of leaving two notifications for the same call. Notifications are steadier on devices that have been reinstalled or signed in to several times. A missed call now shows a number on the chat list and the app icon. Fixed a window where notifications went missing after the app was closed. Fixed: the ringtone kept playing after the caller had already hung up. A call cancelled before you answered now counts as missed: it notifies, and reminds until you see it. Signing in on a computer now requires two-factor (2FA) to be on. You are told when you turn the switch on, instead of at the last step on the computer. Fixed: the chat header overlapped its buttons at the largest text size. The feed, new-group and sort buttons are one menu now; the camera keeps its place. Fixes from a detailed code review Fixed: signing out and back in opened Settings instead of your chats. Fixed: a ringtone could keep playing with no way to stop it. Settings gets its own screen Everything used to sit inside your profile. Settings is now its own menu, grouped into display, sound, security and storage. Ringtone fixes The ringtone stops if you silence the phone while it is ringing. Fixed: with notifications turned off, a call could ring on with no way to answer it, and blocked the next call. Fixed: when a call notification failed to send, nothing told you about the call at all. Also from the previous release Ten notification sounds and ten ringtones to choose from. Scan the PC sign-in QR with your camera and it opens in ChidChat. Answer on one device and the others stop ringing. Every call leaves a record, and missed calls notify you.

ChidChat links now open in the app. Scan the PC sign-in QR with your phone camera, or tap an invite link, and it opens straight in ChidChat instead of a browser. Also included, from the previous release Answer on one device and the others stop ringing at once. The ringtone stops when you answer instead of playing on. Calling from an iPhone now plays a ringback. Every call leaves a record in the chat, and a missed call notifies you. Press Enter for a new line and the message keeps the lines you typed. The chat no longer slides sideways at larger text sizes. Photos you send stay inside the message bubble on every screen size. Links in your own messages are visible again.

Signed out properly when you sign in somewhere else Signing in on a new device correctly signed the old one out, but that device then sat on "Reconnecting..." indefinitely while still looking signed in. The old device now returns to the sign-in screen straight away.

Fixed the Enter key on the phone keyboard Pressing Enter while typing used to send the message straight away, when it should have started a new line — so half-written messages got posted. Enter now makes a new line as you would expect, and the send button next to the message box is what sends.

• Find friends from your contacts, on or off whenever you like. Only numbers are read, never names, and numbers that are not ChidChat users are discarded at once. A separate switch controls whether others can find you by yours. • The Terms and Privacy buttons work now. On a phone they did nothing; both open inside the app, no connection needed. • The purchase screen says what Pro includes and that it auto-renews. • Corrected the text giving Pro's AI a monthly limit. There is no limit.
