more This update mainly adds the new file import feature in the Recipe Book. It also brings a clearly improved intelligent recipe tool for structuring recipes, plus several visible updates and everyday fixes.
# Additions
• Recipes can now be imported directly from local files into the Recipe Book. You can process multiple files or a single folder in one run, review them first, then save selected items.
• From the start, file import supports a wide first set of local formats, including images, text files, PDFs, locally saved recipe pages, and Taste export files.
# Changes
• The intelligent recipe tool for structuring recipes has been significantly improved. It now works more clearly, organises ingredients and steps more reliably, and provides more coherent results in the default case.
• The Recipe Book’s showcase content has also been refined visually, with updated images.
• The display of badges and showcase content in the Recipe Book has been tuned to feel calmer and more consistent in several places.
# Corrections
• Recipe detail views now behave more smoothly when switching between multiple open contexts.
• Several rare stability issues in Search and the Recipe Book have been fixed.
I’m pleased to finally make file import available. It’s an important step, as it opens up new and much more flexible ways to bring recipes into Taste. At the same time, this is just the beginning: more formats and additional import routes are planned over time, so recipes can be brought in more widely and more easily.
1.5.11 2 days ago
This update is a smaller interim release with a few important fixes and two visible improvements. The focus is on better stability, new multi-delete support in the Recipe Book, and a refined in-app browser.
# Additions
• Recipes and categories can now also be selected and deleted together in the Recipe Book.
# Changes
• The in-app browser has been refined and adapted to the new Liquid Glass design.
# Corrections
• Exports and Recipe Book backups are now more reliable.
• In assignment mode, the Tag Manager now starts more reliably at the correct height when larger text sizes are used.
• Fixed a hang in Tag Manager search on iPad.
1.5.10 22 May
This update expands Taste in two ways: Smart Recipe Tools brings new AI-assisted tools directly into recipes, and tags can now be assigned to multiple selected recipes at once in the Recipe Book. It also includes a few focused fixes in related areas.
# Additions
• Smart Recipe Tools introduce a new shared foundation for AI-assisted recipe edits, with a dedicated start flow, preview, and a deliberate apply step so changes are clearly visible.
• `Translate Recipe` is now available as a new tool to translate existing recipes directly within the currently open recipe.
• `Structure Recipe` is now available as another tool to organise recipes more clearly, improving the layout of ingredients and instructions, and making the recipe content easier to work with.
• Tags can now be assigned to multiple selected recipes at once in the Recipe Book.
# Changes
• Tag Manager is updated for the new multi-tag flow, with assignment mode shown more clearly. This also improves the way context is presented for multi-selection, empty selection, and blocked cases.
# Corrections
• Fixed a crash in the Smart Folder tag picker that could occur with duplicated shared-tag states.
• Fixed a hang when printing or sharing certain Paprika-imported recipes with problematic note states.
• Problematic optional recipe links no longer block export or Recipe Book Backup. Clearly identifiable link issues are now handled automatically.
1.5.9 18 May
This update brings together two main improvements: the category share start in Private Sharing has been completely reworked, and Recipe Book Backup now adds a new protection feature for your own Recipe Book. It also includes a few smaller fixes and refinements in related areas.
# Additions
• Recipe Book Backup now introduces a new internal backup area in Settings, including automatic background backups, manual backup runs, and restoring from the latest local backup.
# Changes
• The start of category shares in Private Sharing has been rebuilt and now waits more carefully for a quiet iCloud state, making especially larger shares feel more stable and smoother to begin.
• The iCloud status indicator in the Recipe Book is now clearer and shows more reliably whether data is currently being uploaded to or saved in iCloud.
# Corrections
• Aborted category shares in Private Sharing now roll back more reliably, instead of leaving visible intermediate states or getting stuck progress UI.
• Recipe count badges in categories now stay in the intended position more reliably and no longer appear incorrectly when the count display is disabled.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when leaving the web import flow.
With this update, Private Sharing can be improved noticeably in both stability and everyday usability. The feature will still remain labelled beta for now, so the next steps can be observed and refined on a stronger foundation.
1.5.8 3 May
This update adds a new dedicated way to import a recipe book from a Taste Export. At the same time, this release continues to focus on improving stability and diagnostics for Private Sharing, alongside several smaller fixes in the Recipe Book.
# Additions
• A recipe book can now be imported directly from a Taste Export.
• Importing from a Taste Export is available via its own clearly separate import path.
• The import flow offers suitable options to either merge into the current recipe book or replace it, plus conflict handling.
• The new Taste Export import flow includes package validation before import and a reliable processing route for supported exports.
# Changes
• For Private Sharing, additional technical groundwork and diagnostic support have been expanded to make problematic states easier to assess, and future improvements more targeted.
# Corrections
• The iCloud loading hint no longer briefly appears incorrectly during a normal app relaunch.
• Recipe count badges in categories now stay positioned more reliably directly next to the category title, even while scrolling and rebuilding cells.
• In the sharing management area, permissions in open link shares are now shown as editable only where those changes can currently be applied reliably.
• A few detail views and count-based checks in the Recipe Book related to diagnostics and consistency cases have been further aligned and made more reliable.
Private Sharing remains the main focus for stability. In particular, starting larger shares for categories with many recipes can still take noticeable time, and the overall flow doesn’t yet feel as smooth as it should. At the same time, further stability improvements are ongoing to reduce problematic sharing states and to handle remaining inconsistencies more reliably over time.
1.5.7 21 Apr
This update adds the new data export in Taste. Recipes and categories can now be selected straight from the Recipe Book and saved in open formats.
# Additions
• New data export directly in the Recipe Book for selected recipes and categories
• Export as JSON, Markdown, or as a combined package containing both formats
• The export structure is designed so more export formats can be added later
1.5.6 10 Apr
This hotfix fixes two particularly important issues in Recipe Book diagnostics and during Recipe Book startup.
# Corrections
• The internal diagnostic tools for the Recipe Book have been made more robust, so they’re less likely to crash themselves even when existing Recipe Book states are inconsistent.
• Startup initialisation of the Root category and showcase content has been softened, after first-time users could end up in an unusable state following the last update.
1.5.5 6 Apr
This update expands the Recipe Book’s internal diagnostic tools, making unusual sync and structural states easier to review during support. It helps, especially, to analyse rare issue cases more precisely and spot them more quickly. Next, I’ll focus more strongly on recipe safety again, including an export feature and automatic snapshots.
1.5.4 4 Apr
Plus another hotfix: based on recent live observations about Private Sharing and recipe book recovery, this update improves reliability in smaller edge cases and includes additional stability fixes for rare crash scenarios.
1.5.3 1 Apr
This follow-up hotfix tackles Private Sharing issues that appeared more strongly in the live environment than expected. It aims to boost the stability of private sharing, make recipe book recovery more reliable in problematic states, and provide stronger diagnostics and support foundations.
# Corrections
• Private Sharing is now more robust in problematic scenarios, so shares are less likely to end up in inconsistent states.
• Recipe Book recovery has been expanded so noticeable or damaged states can be identified more reliably and handled with greater care.
• Diagnostics and support tools have been improved so unusual recipe book and sync states can be assessed more clearly.
1.5.2 1 Apr
This hotfix adds an extra recovery option for rare issue cases in the Recipe Book after sharing, plus further fixes for recipe editing and the overview.
1.5.1 30 Mar
# Dodaci
• Privatno deljenje za recepte i kategorije.
• Prihvatanje pozivnica za deljeni sadržaj direktno u aplikaciji.
• Namenski prikaz za upravljanje učesnicima, ulogama i radnjama deljenja.
• Vidljive oznake za deljeni sadržaj u Knjizi recepata, Pretrazi i Pametnim fasciklama.
# Ispravke
Ako primetite bilo šta, slobodno me kontaktirajte na support@taste-recipe-manager.app.
1.5.0 28 Mar
This update refreshes AI‑assisted recipe import, as our AI provider will soon retire the Large Language Model we previously used. To keep recipe extraction working, Taste 1.4.19 is required.
# Changes
• AI‑assisted recipe import has been overhauled so recipes can continue to be reliably extracted from text. If a request fails, Taste will now automatically retry in the background.
# Corrections
• Stability has been improved and rare crashes have been fixed.
Taste 1.5.0 is the next major update and introduces Private Sharing, allowing sharing across iCloud accounts. It was originally planned for earlier release, but had to be delayed several times. It turned out to need more foundational work than it first appeared, and other priorities kept popping up.
The current build is now very solid and 1.5.0 is getting close. The wait is nearly over. Thanks for your patience.

• URL import is now more reliable and makes it clearer when a page is still loading before the import can begin.
# Corrections
• When editing recipes, scrolling and spacing with the keyboard open have been fixed in certain cases.
1.4.17 28 Jan
This hotfix update resolves several reported issues and improves importing and overall stability in a few specific cases.
# Additions
• When scanning recipes, any photos you capture are now saved together with the imported recipe.
# Fixes
• TikTok importing now supports more types of links (including photo posts) and is more reliable when extracting images and captions.
• The tag manager is now more stable and smoother to use in many situations.
• On iOS 18 and earlier, navigation bar buttons could sometimes disappear after returning from a recipe.
• Fixed a rare crash when closing the app.
This hotfix update has again been strongly guided by your feedback. If you run into any issues—especially error messages or import problems—please contact me any time at support@taste-recipe-manager.app. Automated tests don’t yet cover everything in these areas, so your reports are extremely helpful.
1.4.16 22 Jan
This hotfix improves internal diagnostics and resolves a rare crash along with an issue in the Recipe Book repair feature.
1.4.15 10 Jan
This update mainly prepares the app for the upcoming major feature “Private Sharing” (Collaboration). It includes internal groundwork and a range of stability improvements.
# Changes
• The tag system has been rebuilt behind the scenes so it can reliably support sharing recipes and categories in future. In everyday use, tags should behave exactly as before.
# Fixes
• Several rare crashes have been fixed that could recently occur mainly on iPads in certain transition and layout situations.
• AI imports also no longer translate content from unsupported languages into English by mistake.
Work on “Private Sharing” has unfortunately taken much longer than expected and will still need a bit more time. I am doing my best to release the update as early as possible in the new year. After that, I plan to focus again on performance improvements and keeping your recipes safe.
1.4.14 31/12/2025
This update includes small maintenance fixes for the recipe book and recipe view on iOS 26.
# Fixes
• In the recipe book, the scroll position of recipe lists on iPhone in portrait on iOS 26 is now kept correctly after opening a recipe.
• In the recipe view, in the header area with the recipe images, the image picker now appears correctly again when you swipe horizontally.
• On devices running a version earlier than iOS 26, the buttons in the header while editing recipes once again have backgrounds, making them easier to see.
Next up is version 1.4.14 with internal data model changes so the big 1.5 update with private sharing can launch reliably.
1.4.13 11/12/2025
In this update, we've fixed a rare bug causing Taste to freeze when printing or sharing some recipes as a PDF.
1.4.12 01/12/2025
This update features subtle paywall enhancements to better support occasional price promotions.
1.4.11 28/11/2025

• HTTP error codes are shown directly in alerts during import.
# Corrections
• Better ingredient analysis and more accurate language detection during import.

This update enhances recipe book diagnostics and offers minor tweaks for iOS 26.
# Changes
• Enhanced recipe book diagnostics to identify and fix minor issues post device restoration.
• Updated button and sheet layouts to align with iOS 26 design.
Occasionally, issues might arise after restoring an iPhone from a backup. I'm working to improve detection and solutions for these situations.
