You're at a consular counter. In front of you: foreigners seeking entry to the Republic of Karanya — tourists, students, patients, traders — and the ones who shouldn't be in the line.
You review each file with limited checks: documents, interview, background, and the passport on your desk. The game gives you no hints. Does the photo match the person? Does the MRZ line agree with the printed page? Is the date of birth on the application form the same as in the passport? Has it expired? The call is yours.
The rules change day by day. One day a hotel booking is mandatory; a week later it's dropped. Some mornings the consulate posts a bulletin: "no entry from this country today" — even for a clean applicant. Consul directives raise your quota; an inspector watches your desk.
Approve · Reject · Request Documents. Requesting documents isn't a verdict — it's a deferral; the applicant returns with the paper in a day or two. When you reject, cite your ground; one that matches the file counts for something.
Bribes and pressure will come. Taking them always burns reputation. And some files are flagged threats — let one in and the career ends there.
A 15-day assignment. Each day a wage, office rent, an approval quota. Buy a clerk, an advisor, a pay raise. The ending reflects how you played it.
Finish clean and the promotion is real: you're posted to Capital Gate, the country's busiest crossing — a fuller counter, harsher rules, colder liars. Clear that too and you're transferred to the Frankonia Consulate: forged passports, stolen identities, and applicants working hardest to talk their way past you — the toughest of the three postings.
Note: Every country, city and institution in this game is fictional.
