Scan, search, sign and share your paperwork on iPhone, with no ScanBasic account. Your documents stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.
Every scanner feature you need, with no subscription, no ads, no account and no analytics — “basic” means no nonsense, not no features.
ScanBasic turns receipts, bills, forms, letters and school notes into searchable PDFs on your iPhone. It is for anyone who scans a handful of documents a month and wants to find, sign and share them without hitting a paywall.
THE BASICS, DONE RIGHT
• Scan multi-page documents with the iPhone’s document camera, or import photos and PDFs.
• Search the words inside every page as well as the titles, with text recognised on your iPhone.
• Organise documents into folders and label them with coloured tags.
• Sign documents with your finger and mark up pages with Apple’s markup tools.
• Protect a shared PDF with a password before it leaves your iPhone.
• Sync your library through your own iCloud to every iPhone on your Apple Account, and find your documents in the Files app under On My iPhone → ScanBasic.
• Lock ScanBasic with Face ID or your passcode.
FREE AND PRIVATE BY DESIGN
ScanBasic is free. There are no ads, subscriptions, purchases, analytics, tracking or ScanBasic account. The whole app is the free tier.
Your documents stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud; ScanBasic has no servers and the developer cannot see them. Sync goes through Apple’s CloudKit to the private database of your own iCloud account: your documents, their PDFs and their organisation use your iCloud storage and follow your iCloud settings.
GOOD TO KNOW
ScanBasic is for iPhone only. Text recognition quality follows Apple’s Vision framework, and recognition is English-first, so handwriting and other languages may be recognised less reliably. Signing is self-signing only. Every iPhone on your Apple Account keeps the whole library, a PDF over 50 MB stays on the iPhone that made it, and when your iCloud storage is full, changes stay on the iPhone and sync when space is available.
