Most explanations of large language models are either a hand-wave or a research paper. Stackflight is the middle. It is a finite course — nine tracks, fifty short units, about three and a half hours of narration — that takes you from what a token is to why a well-sourced answer can still be wrong, and what to do about it in the code you actually ship. HOW A UNIT WORKS Every unit is the same short loop, because the loop is what makes it stick: • Learn — a few paragraphs in plain language. Some units ask you to predict the answer before they explain it, because being wrong first is what makes the explanation land. • Try — split a word into tokens by hand. Trace a claim back to its evidence. Decide which text is allowed to give orders. Small hands-on exercises, not multiple choice about a diagram. • Check — a short check with the reasoning shown for every option, right and wrong. Then it comes back days later, when you are about to forget it. WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO • Count what you send. Tokens, context windows and what they cost — and why the stable part of a prompt belongs first. • Tell a sourced answer from a confident one. Trace a claim to evidence, or mark it unknown. • Keep a model inside a fence. Decide which text may give orders, get output your code can parse, and stop a loop at a limit you chose. • Choose between renting a model and running one, and adapt only what prompting cannot hold. • Ship it, and have an answer ready for the day it answers badly. Finished is not the same as frozen. Lessons get corrected, sharpened and added as the field moves, and every update is included in the purchase you have already made — there is never anything further to pay. NO ACCOUNT, NO ANALYTICS There is no sign-up and no login. Your progress lives on your device. There is no analytics vendor, no telemetry and no advertising. If the app crashes you can choose to send a report — that switch is off unless you turn it on, and a report never contains your progress, your answers or anything you have typed. Everything else works offline.
