Bisque is a mindful spending companion built around one idea: desire things slowly.
The app is built on one simple observation: most desires, when left alone, resolve themselves. You don't need willpower to resist buying something. You just need enough time between the wanting and the deciding. The urge that felt like a need at 11pm has usually faded by day 14, because desire is neurologically time-limited when it isn't fed by action.
When you add something to Bisque, it goes into the kiln for however many days you choose. You set the timer and the app holds it. You go live your life. When the cooling period ends, you decide — buy it, or don't. If you buy it, the clay breaks. If you don't, it hardens into a vessel and joins your collection permanently.
The pottery metaphor in this app exists because clay behaves the same way. Raw clay is soft, reactive, easily shaped by whatever touches it first. Left in the kiln — held in heat and stillness — it either hardens into something real and lasting, or it reveals its cracks and eventually falls apart.
