DropTone is a new musical instrument application developed by the Droplet Project. It is designed so that both people who are good at playing instruments and those who are not, those with disabilities and those without, can enjoy playing in a way that suits them. Whether practicing your favorite songs slowly and alone, or playing in a lively ensemble with your friends, everyone has their own way of enjoying music. Each person can enjoy music in his or her own way.
The role of DropTone as a universal instrument is to help you do so.
DropTone has the following features
- Built-in authentic tones
Officially licensed from KORG, a leading Japanese musical instrument manufacturer, the DropTone has built-in high-quality tones that can withstand professional use. These are not toys, but authentic sounds that support a rich playing experience.
- Freely Layout Performance Panel “Stage”
You can freely arrange the parts for performance on the iPad screen. The stage allows for a playing style that suits each child's needs, such as placing buttons that produce sound where fingers can easily reach, or arranging only the minimum number of buttons necessary. Single-note instruments and complex chords, such as drums and chord playing, can also be flexibly combined.
- Playable by touch or by switches
In addition to screen touch, the software can also be operated by external switches. The design is also friendly to children with physical disabilities, as they can play using familiar switches. By combining switch and touch operation, multiple players can enjoy playing with only one iPad.
- Fulfilling performance support functions
As a support function for playing songs, there is a mode that sounds scales in the order they are placed on the stage and a mode that sounds scales in the order registered in the original music notation data called “melody”. Even if you cannot read music, you can try playing without worrying about making mistakes.
