Most apps like Strava, Garmin, Apple Fitness and Woop calculate zones using an age-based max-HR estimate (220−age or 208−(0.7×age)). That’s convenient, but research shows big person-to-person error. In short: your birth year isn’t your physiology. - VO2MAX CLASSIFICATION BASED ON THE MOST RECENT FRIEND REGISTRY DATA. Most apps use outdated, inaccurate classification based on performance prediction, not actual VO2Max measurements.
