I hear there's a new programming language called Swift. Started using it. Some RSS feeds include story-related images in the enclosures and media tags in the RSS metadata - started using those to present the stories in the lists and in the story view. Did some performance optimizations. Went back to hyphenating content manually, but this time using the built-in system frameworks, since they are good enough now. Thinking about using the enclosures more... More coming soon, this decade hopefully.

Some polish, especially for iPads.

Made some fixes to the way the app restores its state when removed from memory. Err, I mean, fixes and performance improvements.

Layout fixes in the story list.

You'd sometimes wind up with an empty story screen when the app was in the background. No more. The view will be refreshed if this happens. No fixes or performance improvements other than that. This one is pretty cool.

Some color tweaks to dark mode palette. Sorry for iterating with such granularity. This one should be the last one for a while. I really need to focus on getting the sync done now.

Improvements to the search screen

Some more fixes to background feed updating. Also, the app restores its state in case of being shut down by the system when it needs some extra memory.

This version takes advantage of the new iOS 13 goodies: - dark mode - context menus for feed and story list items - doesn't download story thumbnails on restricted or expensive connections Also you can expect some further tweaks to the colors used in the "light" palette.

Some lazily implemented feeds may temporarily come up with duplicate stories after this update, due to a fix of the way the stories are identified in the app, sorry about that. The plus side is that there should be no more resurrected stories that you already read or favorited, just because they happened to point to the same address, and are not identified in any other way in the RSS feed. I'm looking at you, Hacker News. Added ability to export feeds. You can share the OPML file from the feed management screen. Moved the Next and Previous story buttons to the top of iPad screen - they're more convenient to use that way.

Fixed some minor layout issues, like status bar not hiding on small devices, or "Mark Story as favorite" swipe action icon not being laid out properly on those latest and biggest ones.

Disabled tilt scrolling for iPads. Doesn't make much sense especially in a split mode while running alongside other apps. Fixed 3D Touch story previews for iPhones, sorry about that.

You could pull to read next story. Why shouldn't you pull to read the previous one? Now you can.

Improved layout on iPhone X. There should be a lot more stability and sanity when changing to different split modes on iPad. Added haptic feedback to the pull-to-action elements of the interface, like change favorite state, refresh feeds, read next story etc. (on supporting devices). Also, background feed updating is a little more optimized, especially for slower feeds, or on slower networks.
