CrossHair is a menu-bar utility for picking pixels and laying out interfaces on macOS. Four overlays — each one keystroke away.
Press ⌘⌥X for a fullscreen crosshair that follows the cursor and stays legible on any background. A two-pass stroke reads on white, on black, and on everything in between.
Press ⌘⌥L for a circular pixel loupe with an in-glass reticle that always sits on a real pixel. Grow / shrink with 1 and 2, zoom with + and −, optional pixel grid with P, and arrow-key pixel-walk. Drop guides at the reticle with G.
Press ⌘⌥G for persistent alignment guides — laser-line horizontal + vertical rules you can lay anywhere on screen. Lock the overlay and every click passes through while the lines stay visible. Guides persist across launches.
Press ⌘⌥M for Measure. Drag out dimension lines with live length in points or pixels, or click a flat-colour region and Measure drops an auto-fit cross that snaps to the full width and height of that band. Hover for pixels; hold ⌥ to flip every label at once.
Menu-bar icon (optional), open-at-login (optional), full VoiceOver + Reduce Motion support, localized into 11 languages.
Pure SwiftUI + AppKit — instant launch, no background services, no telemetry. The loupe and Measure need Screen Recording permission to read the pixels under your cursor. Nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere; CrossHair forgets every frame the moment the next one arrives.

NEW
• Clear everything at once. While guides or measurements are on screen, the menu bar menu starts with Clear All, and Option-clicking the icon clears them without opening the menu. Both can be undone.
• Place guides from the keyboard. With + H or + V armed, the arrow keys move the placement line, one point at a time or ten with Shift, and Return or Space drops the guide there.
IMPROVED
• Livelier overlays. The crosshair's lines now grow out from the pointer with a brief glow, and the loupe pops on with a clearer ringed border. With Reduce Motion on, both simply appear.
