This update makes tags easier to manage. • Add a tag to a note from its context menu, or to several notes at once with Select. • Delete a tag from the Tags list. A daily backup of your whole library. • Once a day, when you open SteelNote, a full copy of your library is saved, to iCloud Drive by default. Move more freely between your notes, and see what has not yet reached iCloud. • Follow a link to another note, then come back with “Back to…”, even after several jumps. • Under each note, see how many notes refer to it, and open them directly. • The sidebar now shows notes not yet sent to iCloud. Settings > Sync tells you why, and lets you send them right away. • Private notes are now kept out of widgets, and the large widget shows eight notes. • Various fixes and improvements.

Long lists read like lists again. • When a bulleted or numbered item runs past one line, the wrapped lines now sit under the item's text instead of returning to the left margin. Nested items and checklists follow the same rule, and the indent is measured from each marker, so "10." lines up as precisely as "1.". • Images no longer go missing when a note was renamed on another device. If the file is on your device, it is shown. • Settings, Maintenance: "Clean Up Duplicate Images" finds copies left behind by older syncs. It removes only byte-identical ones, leaves anything that differs, and shows you the numbers before it starts. • "Push All Notes" now re-sends your images too, not only your text.

Your notes arrive again. • Notes written on one device now reach your other devices reliably. A request to iCloud could hang with no time limit, and once that happened the app quietly stopped fetching anything at all until it was relaunched. Every request is now bounded and recovers on its own. • SteelNote looks for changes by itself while it is open, instead of waiting for a notification that never arrived on Mac.

Local really means local. • When iCloud sync is turned off, nothing is sent to iCloud any more. A few paths could still run quietly in the background; they are now closed. • Mail links copied from Mimestream, Outlook, Spark, Fastmail and Proton Mail are recognised the same way as Apple Mail links.

Your notes folder, one tap away. • Settings now opens your notes folder straight in the Files app. They have always been ordinary .md files sitting there; now you can go and look without hunting for them. • You can also rate SteelNote from Settings.

Notes that stay deleted, and no more accidental duplicates. • Notes you delete and then empty from the trash no longer come back. It could happen to a note you had just been editing. • A note whose title changes no longer ends up duplicated.

Autocorrection fixes, and a search index that repairs itself. • Accepting an iPhone autocorrection no longer scrambles the sentence you were writing. This one showed up in everyday text: any line containing a parenthesis, and the first line of every note. • If the search index is ever damaged, SteelNote rebuilds it instead of carrying on without full-text search.

Bug fixes from the first days on the App Store. • Opening the daily note could show a blank screen with no way to close it. Fixed, and the same fault is fixed everywhere a note opens full screen. • On the very first launch, folders no longer claim to be empty while the app is still loading them. • The iCloud message no longer appears when you have turned iCloud sync off. • A second pass on the app icon.
