An alarm clock you can't switch off half asleep. To silence it, solve a task: a math problem, a missing digit, a sequence, a phrase to retype, a barcode you stuck up in another room, a photo of your toilet or fridge, shaking the phone, turning a shape, or a short walk.
Five missions are free from day one. The other four, chaining several in a row and your own sound come with a single purchase.
A SYSTEM ALARM, NOT A BACKGROUND SOUND
Ranok is built on AlarmKit, so it rings with the app fully closed. That isn't a setting you can lose or a permission that quietly lapses. It's how the app is built.
WHY REPEATS AND NOT VOLUME
A minute of silence is enough to fall back asleep. So Ranok comes back every 15 seconds until the task is solved, instead of ringing louder.
A LOCK ON THE SETTINGS
For as long before the alarm as you choose, it stops being editable. You can change your mind, but during the day, with a clear head.
THE SOUND IS YOURS
Five generated tones, matched in volume so that choosing one isn't quietly choosing a volume. Or an audio file of your own.
A DREAM JOURNAL
A dream fades within minutes. After the alarm, Ranok offers to write it down while you still remember it. Entries stay on your phone only, with search, tags and export, and behind Face ID if you like.
STATS WITHOUT THE CHEERING
How many mornings, how many wake-ups, how many escapes. No points and no confetti: this is a mirror of the habit, not a scoreboard.
HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS
You can always wait Ranok out. The ladder of repeats is finite, and no app controls the system Stop button. Ranok makes escaping cost more than getting up. It doesn't make it impossible.
Settings has two new rows: Suggest an idea, to say what Ranok is missing, and Rate Ranok. Onboarding now introduces the dream journal, and a permission that was never asked for can be requested with one tap.
