Abetka UA: Ukrainian Alphabet

Letters & reading for kids

Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Abetka UA is a child's first step to reading Ukrainian — for Ukrainian families at home and abroad who want their kids to read in their own language. The app speaks Ukrainian: every letter, syllable and word is voiced by a native speaker, with a female or male voice to choose from. From letter to word: • LETTERS. All 33 letters of the Ukrainian alphabet, each with its name and 2–3 picture words, all voiced. • SYLLABLES. A consonant with every vowel — МА, МО, МУ, МИ, МІ, МЕ — plus soft syllables with Я, Ю, Є. Over 160 syllables. • READING. 49 words by syllables with a picture — from МАМА and ТАТО to КОРОВА and ЧЕРЕПАХА. • GAMES. "Find the letter", "Find the syllable" and "Build the word" — collect stars. • BALLOONS. A voice names a letter — the child pops the balloon that has it. • TWINS. Like 2048, but with letters: two equal letters merge into the next one. 5×5 board and a hint. • WRITE. A dotted letter fills the screen and the child traces it with a finger. Only a fully traced letter counts; missed parts light up. • ANIMALS. How a cow, a cat, a rooster and 20 more animals sound — real recordings, then the game "Who says that?". • STICKERS. A new sticker for every won game and traced letter. No reading needed: big colourful tiles, pictures and voice. A toddler finds their way without an adult on every screen. 7 days free: • The first week everything is open — all letters, syllables and words. • After that 10 letters (А–З), syllables with "М", 3 words and 6 animals stay free. • The full version is a one-time purchase, forever. No subscriptions and no auto-renewal. For parents: • No ads and no data collection. The app sends nothing over the network. • Works offline — on a plane, in a shelter, anywhere. • No links out of the app and no third-party banners. • Child progress: letters viewed and traced, wins, stickers, days in a row. • Trial, purchase and voice choice sit on a parents' screen behind a simple sum. App language: Ukrainian (interface and voice-over). This page is translated for parents. Made with love for the Ukrainian language.

• New game «Balloons»: a voice names a letter — pop the balloon that has it. • «Twins»: a 5×5 board and a hint showing where to swipe. • Five new animals: elephant, turkey, monkey, dolphin and cricket — 23 in total. • Words re-recorded with the correct stress; all words and letters now play at the same volume. • The letter page plays the letter's name and words; the separate «letter sound» is gone. • A short cartoon greets you on first launch. App language: Ukrainian.
