Proudly made in New York.
You can tell this app loves podcasts. Everything here is the result of a lot of podcast listening, and the outcome is an app that does everything you want to do, without the unnecessary features or fuss.
Very questionable stuff.

A lot of my use cases were broken by rewrite / redesign. I would prefer author to spend another year rewriting and reaching feature parity with the old app. Here are my main pain points:1. Streaming. What if I have no podcasts that insert ads on the fly? Sorry, but you can’t decide what’s better for your users. You at least must make it optional.2. Automatic episodes removal is broken. Not even one was removed since the update. I patiently wait for a fix.3. Opening panel with podcast description from playback screen takes one tap in image but closing it requires clicking the “x” button. It’s like I’m back in Windows hell. You could say “just tap ‘i’ button”. But the fact that there’s two ways of doing it is a bad UX by itself.4. There’s no point in shrinking playlists to these circles. I’m sure that there’s many people who only need one playlist. Why not make option of removing this section, replacing it with just “play” button for this hidden default playlist?
The new version is just awesome

I have been a happy overcast user for many years, and this new app rewrite made me even happier. This new ‘jump back’ button which appears when I accidentally tap the progress is alone worth the money I pay. Well done Marco!
Minor bug fixes is not enough

I tried to use it twice over 6 months, because Apple make so radical changes in the standard Podcast app, I tried to quit it. I’m sorry, it’s ugly, it hung up twice in 5 minutes, heated up my phone to 50C and eaten 15% of the battery. It hung up on the start screen asking for some email. It takes 4 taps to play the episode, download button on “download” screen on the right of the episode does nothing, doesn’t react on the tap. Waiting animation is ugly and overlaps the play/pause button. And I need to pay $10 a year? For what? What value do I get? No ads? Thank you, I’ll rather live with minor inconvenience with the standard app.
Everyone hated the new episode-limit strictness, so it's gone!
You can now also set all limits at once in the main settings screen, and manually toggle whether specific episodes are included in or ignored by the limits you set.
