Description

NRS Healthcare is the UK’s leading provider of Community Equipment, Wheelchair and Clinical Services to the NHS and Local Authorities.

Working with Commissioners to develop appropriate and accessible services is at the heart of what we do. Supporting healthcare professionals, local retailers and the voluntary sector we provide cost effective products and solutions that allow people to live independently at home in safety and with dignity.

We source, procure, store, deliver, install, collect, decontaminate, service and recycle community equipment ranging from complex pressure area care to simple aids for daily living.

The ‘NRS Explorer’ app, allows prescribers working within Integrated Community Equipment Services (ICES) to use smart phones and tablet computers to track equipment by scanning bar codes (asset tag/PUK numbers) using a devices built in camera or by scanning Radio Frequency Id. (RFID) tags using a paired Bluetooth™ RFID reader. Prescribers can use the app to identify equipment, validate current location, view the movement and recycling history of items and view the order details of each issue and collection including the details of the requesting prescriber and service user. Additionally, prescribers in Peripheral Stores (Satellite stores/Buffer Stores/Issue Points etc) can gain the benefits of convenience and improved accuracy by using the app to quickly and easily record equipment issues from hospitals by searching for (or creating) a service user record and scanning the bar code of the item(s) being issued.

The NRS Explorer app is part of the NRS Healthcare suite of ICES IT solutions and can only be used by prescribers with access to ICES services hosted by NRS Healthcare.
