Description

App helps a teacher to divide a class of students into small groups for cooperative work. This is a simple and convenient way to save a teacher’s time.

Key function
————————
With this app, the teacher can quickly form small groups of students to perform cooperative assignments.

How it works
————————
To form peer groups, you need to select a class, and then the size of the group. For example, 2 people, or 3, or 4, etc. After that, the application will automatically divide students into small groups and show their names on the phone screen.

Notes
————————
Groups are formed in random order.

First, It needs enter the names of the classes and the names of the students into the program.

Discussion: Why is this necessary?
————————
Uniting students into groups for joint work is one of the progressive educational technologies. By completing various educational tasks together with peers, students acquire not only educational knowledge, but also the experience of communicating with other people, the experience of joint search and acquisition of new knowledge.

Moreover, a number of studies show that knowledge and skills at the first stage exist in the form of communication between people, and then are transformed into an individual experience of the individual.

Various criteria can be used to create cooperative groups. Most often this is a random choice, when students come together in groups to gain experience of working with different peers. For example, a teacher asks students to name numbers in order from 1 to 3, then everyone with number 1 is grouped into the first group, students with number 2 are grouped into the second group, etc.

Also, groups can unite students with the same or, conversely, different levels of training in the subject (for example, programming, English, mathematics, etc.), with the same or different first language of communication, etc.

The sizes of small groups depend on the content of the tasks being solved. Most often, groups of 2, 3 or 4 people are created, less often 5 or more.

More complex criteria or procedures for creating cooperative groups also require more time to prepare them (for example, to assess the level of training), as well as to carry them out.

The Teacher Group Maker app automates this routine and allows the teacher to create small groups within a class based on a random selection literally within seconds.

At the beginning of the term, the teacher can enter the names of the classes with which he will work, as well as the names of the students. Then, during the lesson , he can quickly form small groups, varying their size.

Conclusion
————————
The Teacher Group Maker app takes another step towards improving the education system through the use of new high technology.

What’s New

Version 2.7.0

Version 2.7.0

Increased the Size of Small Group option to 16 people.

This was asked by our users who work as teachers in classes with a large number of students, for example, 30 people. This allows the class to be divided into two large subgroups for team competition.
