Description
IDShield offers identity protection and monitoring to protect members from identity theft and fraud. Your IDShield membership can be easily viewed and updated through the IDShield app. To use this app, you must already be a member.
The IDShield mobile app includes these features:
· Main Dashboard to quickly view your current credit score and any new alerts
· Monthly Credit Score Tracker to review how your credit score is trending after sign up
· Credit Monitoring to scan your credit identity for fraudulent activity
· Dark Web/ Internet Monitoring and Updates to determine if your identity can be exploited by hackers
· Credential Monitoring so you can be aware if you need to change your passwords to prevent online account takeover
· Social Media Monitoring to view any information posted on social media that may be a reputational or privacy risk
· Minor Monitoring and Updates to ensure no one is trying to steal your child’s identity
· High Risk Monitoring for early detection of financial fraud and identity theft
· Public Records Monitoring to determine if someone else has used your identity for any publicly recorded activity
· Court Records Monitoring to ensure that no one is using your identity for court or criminal proceedings
· Address Change Monitoring for detection of someone trying to steal your identity through postal mail
· Sex Offender Monitoring to view registered sex offenders in your area
· Edit Profile so you can change your information easily without having to go to the web portal
· Push notifications sent right to your phone to make it easy to see when you have new alerts

Best ID theft protection out there
I have tried numerous identity, theft, protection, apps, and software over the years. Nothing has come close to being as user-friendly and robust as the ID shield app. But my favorite part is the fact that the licensed private investigators do the work to put your life back together when you do become a victim of identity theft. So many other products out there make you do all the work, or send you a do it yourself kit with a one 800 number that rings in the Philippines.

Works as advertised but…
Overall the platform works well enough alerting you to potential risks, exposures etc. However, if you have any sort of inquires soft or hard these can and will affect your credit on some level. I realize this has nothing to do with ID Shield. The reason for the 4 star rating is although customer service is trying to be helpful they simply do not possess the level of intel when asking about credit score dips. My score has been in the 800’s for years and have been fortunate enough to not miss payments. There have been a few occasions where my score has dropped 50-70 points in a month (for no apparent reason). When I call to gain clarity on why I don’t find reasons or solutions. They (customer service) simply tell me we do not see delinquent payments on our end. My next question to CS is can a credit inquiry affect a score that dramatically? They typically say ,”no, it should only move maybe 5-10 pts. It will then bounce back.” Well that hasn’t been the case.
In summary my feedback is to understand on a granular level what is truly driving score changes.

Identity theft isn’t personal
People say all the time that they don’t have anything. No one would want their credit - But nothing could be further from the fact that when you get hit, your world is turned upside down and I for one don’t want to be the one to try to “fix” the problem. I’m not willing to give up the money and hours it would take to untangle that mess. IDShield? Way cheaper to let them handle it!! Thanks for keeping my stress level down!!
