I've been using this app for a week and a half and a already love it. Having tried several project/task/to-do management apps in the past, including Things, Todoist, Apple Reminders, Focus To-Do, and Google Calendar's tasks, this one is really the all-in-one app that I've been looking for. It combines and/or is compatible with a bunch of methodologies that I love and use—GTD, PARA, pomodoro, and the Eisenhower matrix to name a few—and perhaps best of all, it integrates my tasks and my Google Calendar, which is super helpful. It also has a ton of other great features like nesting subtasks within tasks, priority levels, tags. I absolutley love that you can budget how much time you think a task will take and add it to your calendar. This is great for reflecting the true scarcity of time and allows you to plan what you can actually get done in a given day.My only real "complaint" about this app is that it doesn't seem to have very good keyboard shortcuts, and so unlike Things, for example, where I can very quickly move and configure items using hotkeys, TickTick seems to be missing keyboard functionality for certain key functions, such as assigning a particular due date to a task. But honestly, all of the other benefits make the app worth it nonetheless.

I’ve used a variety of digital and paper planners. I have to say, tick tick is the best I’ve come across so far. I think there is a powerhouse of features under the hood and a fair amount of customizable themes as well. It keeps the overall app fresh, plus there are regular updates. I was originally using Nirvana app (GTD method) for my to do lists and whatnot, but have now started creating those lists in tick tick. While some of the more fine tuned aspects of Nirvana get lost, the functionality (for me) is about the same. I like that I can have my lists and planner all in ONE app. Very convenient. I also have to say, the option to attach files to any planner event is a lifesaver. Gone are the days looking for an email to provide me some info on an event. Now I screen shot the email (or anything) and can instantly attach it. The only things I would ask be improved are adding the premium dark theme that’s on the iphone and ipad to the desktop version. Also, on the iphone app you can press and hold to arrange your daily tasks in month view. I wish this feature was also available on the desktop version for month view. Aside from these minor issues, it’s a wonderful app and worth the cost.

It’s still the only app that keeps me organized the way my brain works. I am so grateful. Until I found TickTIck, I just could not function with any digital calendar. I tried to no avail. Google Calendar is the bane of my existence. TickTick was the best for me when it allowed integration of other calendar; then one day it removed my imported Google Calendars (which other people are good at using, calendar I needed to know the notes from), and I could no longer subscribe to external calendars. Fine, life moved on, I only used TickTick for my own organization after that. It has been that way for me since. The one thing I can’t stand is that I can view my tasks in daily/weekly/monthly formats on my phone, but not on the computer. It is this one problem that makes me never use it on my computer, which would be really nice to be able to update from both devices. The computer version doesn’t allow me to view my tasks in weekly or monthly format, which renders it useless to my visual oriented mind. I have only used TickTick on my phone because of this. I don’t have any personal reason to subscribe for the premium features, so I use it the way I am able to under the free version. I’m still very thankful.

TickTick is a very nice and clean implementation of a GTD-inspired task organizer. It supports a sufficiently advanced task organization model where tasks could have subtasks and projects could be organized into one-level of folders (playing the role of areas in Nirvana and other GTD tools). It also has necessary tags to support other kinds of organization. With that it is two levels above basic tools with flat list of projects like Microsoft todo or Google Tasks and one level above tools with flat list of tasks as Nirvana and could be be used by people with reasonably advanced needs. The tool is a bit less advanced in "engaging" part of GTD that is critical to pick up next task to work on. It does have several views, search, and vital "smart views", but lacks several other ways offered by "true GTD" tools like Web-based FacileThings or Nirvana. Yet, if you want a tool with a good Mac client that could sync with a mobile app, TickTick is as strong as you could find for medium-high needs. It lacks just a few advanced features that you could find in Todoist like hierarchical project organization, but comes with a bit lower price and a bit cleaner interface. If your organizational need is not super challenging, it will support you in full.
