As a navigating

As a navigational purpose this app have good algorithm but there must be language settings that can allow foreign people to use it just like google maps or any other maps which helps foreign people to use it well and makes China more popular and places to but if this can’t be done only people who are native or people who know the Chinese language will only download it and apps can’t be like this xD

MUST HAVE for mainland China but unintuitive controls

TL;DR if in Mainland China you must download Baidu maps for looking things up and AMAP for navigation. Thank me later. But use the maps SLOWLY and read carefully. This map app still has the most complete set of shop locations. But navigating the app is slowly getting worse and worse. Pinch and multi finger commands move you too far or attempt to setup a 3d view and mess you up more than half the time. Also don’t bother with the photos feature in this app for individual locations. It randomly jumps to photos you didn’t pick and goes crazy. This app is a necessary evil right now for your travels. Good luck

Inaccurate arrival times, no language options, doesn’t update areas of construction

I rarely ever write bad reviews but this app is so not user-friendly that I was surprised to find such a high rating for it. Since it’s the only map option in China everyone basically has to use it as it knows more than Apple Maps. However, I’ve used this app to call a car multiple times and the map states that the amount of time it’ll take to get there. Almost always it’s 10minutes off and the app itself never seems to get updates on where streets are having construction so there’s no access points on certain places. It also doesn’t have an English language option which isn’t friendly to international users.
