Love the app so far, however it would be great if I can scan the barcode of a product and that information populates automatically rather than me staring at a label and inputting it manually. More control over the measurements as well, I had to input MG for something that was MCG, for example 7 mg instead of 7mcg. Allow us to type the number in rather than pressing the plus or minus sign. Some measurements allowed decimal points while some were only whole numbers, I think decimal points should be on all of them as not all vitamins measure the same. A vitamin “diary” or calendar view so I know which days I took which supplements. A daily dashboard so I know how much of a certain vitamin/mineral I have taken for the day, based on the daily nutrition value, so that I don’t overdose.
First, thank you for the review. It matters to us. Now, to your comments. Lookup product by barcode is great but huge feature for us, Martspec is not yet at the size to do it. Pretty much it would require to cooperate with whoever has all data on products. Units are taken from Apple Health, some nutrients in MG, others are in MCG. However, we did notice that some products do not follow what Apple sets as standard. For sync with Apple Health to work the units need to match what Apple sets there. It just would not take units other than it wants.Buttons plus/minus have acceleration. If you tap and hold it would go faster. Idea to have buttons implies closer experience to Apple Watch. However, typing number might be easier. We need to discuss it with designer. No promises here.Decimal points only appear on nutrients that are measured in small values. Others, such has vitamin C or A usually measured in hundreds and decimal point does not appear there. This behavior similar to all devices and really helpful on Apple Watch where screen real estate is limited. The vitamin "diary" or calendar is something we want to do, yet do not know how that should look and feel. Also, with recent announcement Apple made at WWDC 22 with the new app drug scheduler I think they address both items: scheduler and barcode scanner. I have not yet seen it, but if that what they claim it -- competing agains Apple would like playing cards agains Casino. For each nutrients there is MAX value that you can enter, the values is taken from the nutrients book I used in College. However, currently if you enter multiple values at the same day you would have multiple records. App checks each record but not sum of values for the 24h period. Yes, this is not too awesome. It does make sense to sum values up for the day. Adding to the roadmap.
