Immeasurably cute, good for checking in multiple times a day

I’ve really enjoyed playing this game for the last month!!! It’s great for people who like the satisfaction of building wealth and gradually upgrading over time, and each new school that you build has a lot of super charming individual detail. It’s super worth taking the time to unlock each level for all of that cuteness alone! Once you get going, it’s the kind of game that does super well with checking in multiple times a day, but not necessarily playing for long periods of time at once, as you have to wait for wealth to build again so you can keep upgrading your school. It’s possible to play without purchasing in game upgrades, but the big events, like “save the Dragon” are essentially impossible without needing to purchase extra gems (or just leaving your phone unlocked in the event). The prizes you get from these imo aren’t equal to the amount of gems you have to spend to get ahead, and it leaves you wanting to purchase gems to keep progressing. After trying to play a few of those events, I mostly just ignore them now. There are some small real-money-purchases that I justify to myself (like relics that help slowly upgrade professors and whatnot) that feel harmless, but they’re not necessary. There’s nothing other than the special events that are impossible without real money, but things just might take a long time. Overall, a super adorable way to spend some time.

I’ve really enjoyed playing this game for the last month!!! I’ve bought the no ads benefits and just now, the premium pass. I have 2 map locations unlocked, and the pass is an option at every school location as you increase game level. However, for $10 on a mobile game I honestly expected that the premium pass would apply to EVERY map location, not just one. I’m honestly disappointed because I had been debating making another purchase for some time and finally thought that one would be best for what I wanted, only to find that at that steep price, I don’t even get to use it as I level up at each school. The game is fun, cute, and keeps me invested. But considering how much they charge for additional benefits, they’re still quite restrictive on the resources they give you even when you’ve given them the same amount of money that could’ve been spent on a larger PC or console game. I truly hope this is adjusted at some point, especially considering that it didn’t disclose anywhere that the pass I purchased would only work once. It’s a good, fun little game and a fun format. Please, if the devs can take anything from this review, make the in-app purchases worth it in resources received. And anyone wanting to play the game, until this is resolved, I’d honestly not spend money unless you have more than enough pocket change to do so. It’s just not worth it as is.

Too hard to upgrade teachers

I just got this game a few days ago, it was cute and fun for a few hours until I figured out that it’s basically impossible to level up the teachers without paying. Some classrooms don’t even come with a teacher when you unlock it, which seems unfair, so you have to either wait until you have collected all the required resources or pay with gems to unlock a teacher, in the meantime the students fail that class. On top of that, unless you upgrade ALL of the teachers multiple times, the students will fail the classes and there’s too many teachers to upgrade and not enough ways to get potions and cards from the cauldron unless, you guessed it, pay for it. It’s extremely frustrating. I’ve upgraded everything else to the max, so I’m basically just stuck now waiting to upgrade teachers so the students can pass and that’s boring. There’s also a ton of ads, every time you want to collect some resources, you either have to watch an ad or to double what you got you can watch another ad. I’ve spent more time watching ads than playing the actual game. There’s also the adventure part of the game which I don’t completely understand, it seems like a totally separate game and I don’t see what the point of it is. There’s a lot going on in this game, most of which makes it needlessly complicated and confusing. It’s a fun idea, but it needs some work.

So I love the game and its visuals, like one of the top reviews say, you can choose to not spend money. When they mean patience though, they mean PATIENCE. You get gated so quick for not shelling out money that you’ll spend a few weeks to a month before being able to progress further into the game. I personally dislike the fact you get gated so hard. I’ve been done with the first level for a while and am now gated by spellpower which you can only get more by getting magic orbs…which there is no efficient way to gather except for watching millions of ads. The sneaky way the game did this was messed up. You already ad lock everything you might as well be more efficient about giving items for people that sit on the game for long amounts of time. Same with the cauldrons, spell draw and equipment. To me this seems like a quick cash grab with a cute facade. So three stars for gameplay, itd have been 4 if all resources were reasonably able to be gathered. 5 stars if every single little thing wasn’t ad locked. Im sure i spent more time in ads than the actual game.Tldr; Cash grab game, ad locked, cute and adorable, may be worth your time if you don’t mind weeks of waiting for advancement.
