I’ve been using BoxHero to organize inventory for my workplace with about 400 different individual items and have found it to be much easier than using a spreadsheet. The item creation process is simple and can import from excel and the barcode functionality is extremely helpful. The only thing I wish was that they use passwords instead of verification codes to make shared logins easier. Overall, great app and very user friendly.

In most basic functions of stocking in and stocking out, this app does well at an affordable price. But it is unable to create purchase orders based on low quantities, you are unable to have zero be a minimum quantity for a part - otherwise you won’t be notified when the part is out of stock, you are unable to track inventory efficiently per location, and you can’t set min/max’s for any location except your main location. And the min/max is for the part itself, so if your minimum is 3 and you have none available in your main warehouse, but a secondary location has 5 of those parts, it doesn’t notify you that one or any of your locations is running low.For a single warehouse, you are able to use this and be just fine. If you have multiple locations (like tech trucks) this app will mess up your numbers.

There is a monthly subscription charge that is not mentioned here. To add insult to injury, they do not go through Apple for the subscription fees so there is no recourse through Apple if there is a problem. Too bad they aren’t more transparent; there app is fairly decent. If I could offer up some advice, they should have different tiers to their subscription fees to allow for personal use, pro-personal and perhaps two or three corporate levels. Also, the subscription should go through apple and be available in the App Store. Their advertisement should be rewritten to make the charges clear. If my suggestions are followed, they will go from a one-star to at least a four-star rating.

I love this app! My small company just recently started using it and it works almost perfectly for our needs! The only thing that caused a bit of a hinderance for us was that you can’t really organize your categories into groups. So if we had multiple categories that are similar in nature, we can’t put them into a group folder. That’s the only real downside I’ve found: a lack of control of the smaller organization. Other than that, I love the app!
