Use Your Device to Detect Studs and Magnetic Fields. Quickly detect wood studs hidden under walls, drywall, plasterboard, or stucco. Wall Stud Magnetic Detector uses your device's compass (magnetometer) sensor to precisely pinpoint metal studs, nails, screws, and other metal fasteners embedded in all wooden wall studs. This app operates in a similar manner to other hand-held stud detector tools: as you move the device along the wall, the needle will move and a beep can be heard. The compass sensor detects subtle changes in the background magnetic fields caused by the conductive metal fasteners that are located in all wooden studs. So far it appears the app may do what it states. I cannot give further info as the app requires a review rather quickly after first getting the app.To comply with review requirement to maintain the app as free, the review is needed. So to be fair to the developer and to individual reader lookin at the review, I am submitting this. It appears to work but I haven’t used it enough to really say how well it really works. Once I use it numerous times I will give a better or worse review as appropriate.

So far this seems really useful. The reason for 3 stars is the manipulation of requiring that you leave a review before you can fully use the app. It gave about 10-30 seconds of use before it makes you either pay or leave a review. If I am able to use it after this, I may up my 3stars to 5 if it is worth it

It’s does work for the most part

It is much better than having nothing to go by that’s for sure, but it will still require you to have some knowledge of what you are doing in the first place. Think of this as an additional tool to use as a cross reference with your own knowledge and intuition and you’ll see positive results. Rely solely on this and you may find yourself patching a bunch of holes or misdiagnosing one thing or another.

I downloaded this app to be able to find the studs in my wall so that I can rehang my fish that i have mounted. So far this seems to be the best app for the job. Not only did it help me find the studs it also helped my find where some wires were ran and other stuff that really helps me and I never thought of until I downloaded and started using this app.
