스도쿠, Sudoku by Logic Wiz 4+

I lost my long-term sodoku app (Enjoy Sodoku - the one with the Thinker icon) with my recent iPhone update. It took me several days of searching and trying to find this worthy successor. Thank you Logic Wiz! The app has a nicely designed and intuitive user interface with many customization settings, including autopencil, which I use when working tougher grids so I don’t have to grind through that step. The Expert level puzzles require basic “next level” solving methods such as unique rectangles. I’ve not tried the Master level, so I don’t know how complex they can get yet. A true 5/5 app that I was very happy to pay for.

Really nice if you’re trying to uplevel your sudoku skills. I was used to paper sudokus and the NYT ones, and this has the ability to do two different kinds of notes + color coding and drawing on the board, so it’s really helpful for more complex sudoku or for learning new techniques. The dark mode is also really nice.

If you’re trying to learn, the hints and strategies can also be helpful. I like that they have a glossary of strategies with drawings, but sometimes the explanations are confusing. Still, this has helped me become a lot better at sudoku.

The ads on the free version are *really* *really* over the top and annoying, though. Like, borderline unusable. They’re doing the “frustrate you so much you either spend the money or hate the app” strategy, not the “ad revenue makes this worth giving you a decent experience” strategy. So if you’re looking for a free app, this is not the one.

A lot of sudoku apps don’t allow you to select a number and enter that number in multiple cells without a bunch of superfluous annoying clicks. The settings in this app really allow you to customize it to how you like to play. It’s pretty no frills, which I prefer, and it’s not constantly being updated with useless changes like other apps. This is the only sudoku app I will use, and I have tried literally dozens. The ads aren’t bad but I did pay for it because I liked it enough I wanted to support the developers. Please never change this app, it’s perfect!!
