Updated: frustrating! I just lost my entire Level 44 party, and I can’t revive any of them because I don’t have enough gold. End of game for me. I can’t grind through a new party to Level 44 again. Suddenly realize how much time I wasted. Too bad I can’t get my party back. I spent a lot of time building them up. Fun while it lasted. Deleted.TIP: READ the tips and guide before you start! Love the old-school feel. I’ve been playing pretty consistently since it came out. You do have to be careful b/c when you die, you need money (in-game money, not real) to be revived, which gets more expensive as you level up. But I’ve found that manageable (e.g., if two characters die and you don’t have money, you can still continue with the other two to explore and gain cash, plus with an ad or two you can get more money). I really enjoy it so far. I’ve got a Warrior, Mage, Thief and Ninja at only LVL 11 so far. I’d recommend this game — but read the tips and guide first!

All of the art in this game is very obviously AI generated. all the character portraits look almost identical, the POC portraits are laughable, they just slapped some dark skin over the generic AI anime aesthetic. some of the art in game is in an entirely different art style! (why are the morgue and bank portraits pixel art?) this game is almost entirely text and images and it takes away from the experience that half the game is ai art. it does not evoke any feeling, games like wizardry make you feel like you’re in a dank and oppressive environment with monsters lurking just beyond the shadows, while this game makes me feel sad. it’s so bland it would be better without it. the dungeon picture never changes, you need to rely solely on the little grid map because they couldn’t be bothered to generate more images or they knew you wouldn’t be able to rely on their bad AI to reliably navigate.

Overall a good 80s like dungeon crawl rpg. UI layout in the dungeon has a lot of empty space, so making better use of that could make the map bigger. Also really needs a button/popup menu next to the two others that would allow you to change the default action/spell without having to go into the character sheet.Once you explore the dungeon a bit, it quickly becomes obvious where monsters will appear, which detracts from the feeling of suspense and immersion.The price difference between minor and regular health/mana potions is ridiculous compared to the difference between regular and major given how much each potion does (regular does 3x as much as minor but costs 6x, whereas major does 1.33x as much as regular and costs 1.33x).Finally, Labyrinth mode needs a warning about its difficulty level!! I went in there after completing the main game, and my entire party died very quickly! Would require all of my gold to resurrect all of them (but I'm done playing because of that, so don't really care).
