As a Mac user, I turned to Dictaate when Drago stopped supporting Dragon Anywhere for the Apple OS. Dictate is an acceptable alternative, but is nowhere close to the usability that I enjoyed with Dragon. For example, with Nuance's Dragon Anywhere, I could dictate anything into any document, at least any document or email that I was working on online. I am hand typing this review because Dictate current only works in the Dictate window, from which I have to cut and paste.Also, with Dragon, I could give commands to undo my last entry, or search, select, and modify text by voice along. i still use Dragon Anywhere on my phone, and still love it. I hope Nuance decides to resupport the Apple OS or that Dictate will iprove. For now it is a limited but useful solution.

On the surface, this sounds just like the previous parable. But let's look up a little more closely. And this example, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant who is seeking beautiful pearls. And this parable, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant. Notice that the merchant is looking for beautiful pearls. We also should note that a pearl comes from an unclean animal, at least in the Jewish religion. Remember, oysters are not kosher, nor is any other shellfish.This app seems to be way behind in voice recognition. I do not have a strong accent. Consequently, Alexa and Siri both hear me very well. This app not so much. It adds “ED” to almost every verb. And there are so many words in my vocabulary that this app mangles into various verbal concoctions. I had surgery on my hand, and cannot type. Unfortunately for me, this is the app I chose to get me through. In addition, the app has many glitches when trying to edit. Sometimes, when I simply click on a paragraph, the entire paragraph deletes. There are so many words that it capitalizes for no apparent reason. Honestly, you can do better.

I am deaf and have been trying for several years to find and make use of a dictation app for conversations and as subtitles on programs like Skype and Zoom. I acquired Dictate afor my iPad and iPhone nd thought it superior to other dictation apps, both in the speed and accuracy of its transcriptions and because of the unlimited length of the dictation sessions. But I was still stuck when it came to videoconferencing subtitles, except for a cobbled together use of my iPhone as a subvtitle machine, picking up the sound from the Mac display speakers.. The advent of the MacOS version of Dictate has given me true, on screen subtitles with four participants: one in Japan, one in Brooklyn, NY, one in Boston, and me in Portland, Maine. I could enjoy the conversation reling on the display speakers. All sources coming through very well, in spite of the fact that I cannot use a mikcrophone, for whioch the developer says the program is optimized.Dictate is, for those of us dependent on subtitles in videoconferences, a hidden treasure.Thank you.Don Nicoll

I love how versitile Dictate is. It previously had glitches in it, in the way the the app responded to editing your dictation. But recently, Dictate has had a serious makeover. It's gotten even better, and the additional bells and whistles work well; either in the background without interference of workflow. Or when you request the app to do something you would like it to do. There is also uninterupted editing where you are not fighting the app to do it. Further, the app is not learning how I say things I want dictated. I'm learning to say what I want dictated. Editing is rapidly becoming minumized. I loved the app before and now I really love the app. I give the app a five star rating again, but this time Christian and his team has earned every star. It woud be wrong to say that Dictate is competing with Dragon, because Dragon is not competing with Dictate. Dictate has moved to the head of the class. Thanks Christian.
