Crashes EDIT

I was very excited about the app when I first got it, and it has helped me a lot although I have been fighting through bugs the entire time. First the app wouldn’t play the songs, but that’s ok. Next it wouldn’t play any sound at all, including the metronome, but that’s ok to I guess. Now it just continuously crashes every time I try to open. I’ve tried reinstalling server all times and it’s the same. I paid for the pro version and this is what I get.

EDIT just a few days after I posted this review, tonestro put out an update that completely fixed every little problem I was having. Thank you so much, I’m so happy to have this app back working normally. It’s a great, fun way to practice and learn. Keep adding stuff and I’ll keep playing it!

Buyer Beware

I was recently charged $149 for a subscription I never intended to keep or use. I had started the free trial to encourage a friend to join, but I forgot to cancel it before it renewed. When I reached out to ask if I could be charged for just one month instead of the full year, the response was a firm no. They explained that Apple and Google’s terms don’t allow refunds for subscriptions not canceled on time, as the right of withdrawal is waived upon purchase.

This was my mistake, but it’s a financial one I simply cannot afford. I’m writing this as a reminder for others—if you’re trying out this app, make absolutely sure to cancel the trial in time if you’re not ready to commit. The app itself may be great, but I won’t have the chance to find out because of this costly oversight. I hope my experience helps someone avoid the same situation.

Be careful of the "free trial"

They signed me up for a full year after my trial period was over. I did want to keep it (the app is cool and my son who is learning trumpet has been enjoying it), so I did not cancel, but I wanted to pay monthly, so that my son could decide each month if he wanted to stick with it (he has agreed to pay half the cost). However, they automatically charged me $160 (!!) for a full year and they have ZERO customer service to clear up the problem. It just feels like a sketchy thing to do. I like the app, but now when I use it (I play trumpet too, though I havent tried some the more advanced levels yet), I have a twinge of feeling like I was cheated and made a fool with the "free" trial thing. If you don't want to sign up for the full year, DO NOT get the "free" trial. They seem to have no customer service department or phone numbers to call.
