Fun to work with, some bugs

The longer I use this program the more bugs I find. Currently I cannot just click on an item and then use the delete button on my computer. I have to use the mouse and right click. This is just one example.It would also be nice to be able to choose a different measure standard for different plans. I have all of mine in metric as that is what the design team with use but I'd like to make one for my son, stateside that uses inches.I'm using this casually so I can envisision renovations on my house. It would be great if there was an easier way to share the 3D model with my contractor. They have no intention of purchasing a copy just for me when they have state of the art CAD programs.

Horrible customer support and confusing billing process

I initially used the app to model out a room redesign I had in mind. After noticing a 3-day trial period, I signed up. I noticed right away the sign-up process was incredibly unintuitive and confusing. once I signed up, it wasn't easy to confirm that I had actually signed up for the trial b/c when I went through the same flow, I noticed the availabiliyt to sign up for the trial again. When the trial period ended, there was no communication. I also noticed cancellation was extremely frustrating. The suppor team rotated on my case after each email, with support limited to "oh we can't help you b/c you have to work with Apple IF you signed up through the app." There was also 3 separate ways to cancel depending on how you signed up: through app store, through web, through mobile. There should only be one way to cancel regardless of device/platform. Going back to the issue of limited support, each CS team member failed to read what the other support specialist had already discussed, so we kept talking about the same issue over and over again. I kept getting the same screenshot and canned responses. Please just READ what the others CS team member have said already - you'll save your customers a TON of time. After a while, I just gave up b/c it was a death spiral of emails that led to nowhere. Finally I got the refund from Apple, not b/c of this company/product's help, but because of Apple.

If the subscription was made through the Apple application, then only Apple support can issue a refund, there is no mistake. Cancellation of such subscriptions is the same for all Apple applications - in an Apple account - in subscriptions. If you have any questions, we will be happy to tell you more through the help menu in the application.

An Intuitive Floor Planner

I was looking for an app for my iMac to do a single bedroom plan. Planner 5D does an excellent job. It took me about ten minutes to get the hang of the program. The free version does not allow you to delete item selections once selected but they can be dragged out of the room and the room itself can be deleted to start over. Internal walls can be built with partition item. Exterior walls snap into place once a corner distance is set for the wall. Windows and doors are easily set and most items have a rotation tab for alignment in the the room. Once the overall dimensions of the room are done and exterior walls set there are enough items to populate the room to get a good feel for a layout and the 3D view is a plus. You can set recessed lighting with the chandelier lighting item selection. I took a screenshot with iMac and was able to both print and email a copy of the plan. There is an external ruler for internal partition size placement and exterior dimensions show up in the walls. Great program!

Simple, but can be a bit buggy at times.

I've designed software in the past. Saw this simple-but-quick home planner and gave the free version a try. I liked how easy it was to learn how to operate, which is great, but when I upgraded to the $70 version level (there are higher levels as well), I found the $70 version to be buggy. The $70 version forces you to use the drop-down menu to change from 2d to 3d rather than with the "Quick" buttons. You are forced to do the same when switching from interior to exterior components. All-in-all, this software is a disappointment. Why penalize someone in the upgrade version by taking away features that used to work in the FREE version? I don't get it. I like its simplicity, but the $70 upgrade was NOT worth the price. This program can be so much better than it is....yeah, but they want me to pay $400 a year and higher to get the BUGs out of the version I paid for. A real Shame. They are NOT getting my renewed subscription. When this year is done, this program is toast. I'll gladly pay some other software company $400 a year for THEIR software, but NOT for this one.
