I’ve been using the app along with my Mantis X10 daily for a few months now on my iPhone. I have had no issues to mention. The training courses are excellent and progressive. I get particular benefit from the trace views—that turned out to be the most actionable bit of data. It visually tells me what’s going on in my grip. I used that screen last night to move my dry practice into a consistent, smooth trigger press. Here’s why this matters: in dry practice, it becomes very easy to get away with a poor grip. But the Mantis and especially the app won’t let you do that. It gives you a metric, and a visual explanation, of how the shot needs improvement. I realized I was compromising on my grip and made corrections. The Mantis app doesn’t judge—it just reports data, which makes it a very helpful training partner. By paying attention to the data, and pursuing a course completion badge, I was able to avoid a common training scar and pitfall of dry practice. It made me use a consistent, quality grip and trigger press. It’s well worth the time and effort to pay attention to the data.

I can’t say enough good things about this thing. I’ve put over 4000 trigger pulls on this thing. I’ve done both dry and live fire with it. The multiple graphs help eliminate variables, it gives advice on how to fix discrepancies. I use the play back to look for trends that don’t show up in the score screen. The more I do with it the more I like it. I’ve even taken all my upgrades off my guns to see if they were in fact upgrades. I tested each piece compared the scores and graphs to get each gun dialed in for me. I tried the 250 shots in 500 seconds challenge ( with a minimum score of 80) I was having problems with it not recording all my shots, I emailed them and had a response back the same day. Great service. If you are any type of shooter and want to be better if you don’t have a MantisX, your wrong. I had more improvements on 1000 trigger pulls with the X than I did with 1000 live rounds. Only reason I gave it 5 stars is cause there wasn’t a 6th one!

I got an original MantisX after reading a review. The feedback the system (hardware and software) gave me was invaluable: it allowed me to analyze my shot release and correct mistakes, isolating those from shots there were just aimed in the wrong place. The X10 continues that, and adds additional capabilities.As I have had questions about the app and the hardware, Chase and Austin have been very helpful. We worked through some early (and elusive!) shot detection algorithm and calibration difficulties, and they never once thought that it was my shooting. Instead, they coached me through getting them data so they could get things resolved.And, writing this in the midst of several weeks of staying at home because of COVID-19 controls, I can still practice in a meaningful way.

This app along with the associated device have changed shooting for me. I always heard people say “oh practice dry fire drills” for new shooters but if you’re doing something wrong in a dry fire drill you’re just solidifying it for your shooting. This app gives you real time feedback, tells you the possible cause for your shooting misfortune is and tells you how to correct it. It is so beneficial to actually see what you’re doing wrong without having to go to the range and see the results on the target. That being said, even at the range you can use this or take what you’ve learned from dry fire feedback and apply it to your shooting at the range. Completely satisfied. Money well spent. If you want to see better results get it and try it.
