I have had two sessions with my tutor for my five-year-old. So far it has been fantastic. My tutor is Amanda. She is very patient with my daughter. She helps her with sounds and recognition of letters and numbers.. so far I give this app a five I don’t normally write apps, but I believe this is one that needed rated. I highly recommend this app for the age group that I am working at because I don’t know how the older apps work for the older children.. I am glad that I found this app. I actually googled to find a tutor and these guys came up and I thought why not give it a try and so far it has been fantastic. And the communication from the developers is fantastic. They always asked me how the session went and how things are going and give me reminders of when the time is coming up, which is great because we live in a super busy world and we sometimes forget things
Rude Over the Phone Tech Support.

Varsity Tutors recently updated the live learning platform and in one of my sessions today we couldn’t figure out why the sound wasn’t working when we were playing our instruments. We adapted and turned it into a little science experiment to try and figure it out. Then after the session, I called their tech-support to explain the situation and see if they could help. Connor, who answered was rude about the whole situation. I explained to him the issue and how we tried to solve it. His only response was “why didn’t you use the in-session chat support?” I explained that we turned it into a science experiment and that I had data to share with him. He begrudgingly listened and several times asked that same question in a rude tone.In my next session my student’s parent showed me what the setting was that I had missed. Meaning my student’s father was more helpful than Connor, who’s supposed to know the program because he is the tech-support person. The student’s father was also kinder than Conner. This is not the first time that Connor has been rude to me when I’ve called in about something. Connor was also rude to me in May 2025 when I called about an invoicing error that needed to be fixed He told me that “nobody reads the invoices even when the “alert your director to any issues” button is clicked. I don’t know what’s going on in Connor’s life for him to act this way at his job at multiple points in the same year, but I do not appreciate it. I am wishing him well enough and I hope he has the day he deserves.

n my recent experience with this service, I must say that it was far from satisfactory. I had decided to cancel my service, but the representative who attended to me insisted on giving me free hours, even though I made it clear that I wanted to cancel. After agreeing to the free hours, I was promised that I would not be charged after the free hours and that my service would be cancelled. However, I was charged, and when I called to get my money refunded, the representative named Jay was unprofessional and rude. He told me to go through my bank and cancel it, which was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, the tutors that were provided by this service were underprepared and slow. They couldn't do half the problems that were given to them, and it was clear that they did not have a good understanding of the material. Additionally, they have a terrible response rate to emails, which only adds to the frustration. It's really disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism and quality in a service that's supposed to be helping students succeed.Overall, I would not recommend this service to anyone. It's a waste of time and money, and the quality of tutoring is very poor. I strongly suggest finding a different service that will actually provide you with quality help and support.
Varsity Tutor scammed me

I called varsity tutor at the end of September to request few sessions for only a month for my son preparing for his SAT. They told me 7 sessions will cost $579 and I opted or the 7 sessions ( average of 2 sessions per week) since the examination will just a month away. I gave them my credit card information and they took the $579 out immediately. Getting a tutor for my son was my first challenge as the Tutor assigned to him confirm but DOES NOT show up for sessions. My son will sit in front of the computer for hours waiting and no one will show up and no apologies. I requested for another tutor and in all my son only got 5 sessions instead of 7. The worst part is they started taking out $579 every month when in actual fact, I told them how many sessions I needed. By the time I realized they had taken the money three times without my knowledge. I called them to ask why they did that when I explained in clear language what I wanted and they told me they cannot refund me the money. First, they frustrated the service I contracted them for and then taking money out of my account without me authorizing them. Varsity Tutor Refund my money.
