I have had the dream screen for about a year now, the first one I received did not work with my ps4. I spoke to customer service they sent a new one out, it works but the cable box don’t work. So basically it was a trade. The lights are good they can be off it depends how it feels like.Now for the app... the app is completely garbage. It does not connect, I mean I have to spend like 30 minutes resetting my router and the module. When it does connect I have to be fast and adjust the settings accordingly because it will disconnect right away. I spoke to customer service about this all they have to tell me is that the app does not support my router 😂. I have switched routers twice and still it’s the same problem. Overall you guys really need to hire a new development person to upgrade this app, or just make a controller that can actually make changes with buttons.

Overall this app does its purpose. It has good settings and mostly easy to use. I think there should be a few more ambient lighting options and a way to get true white for movie viewing instead of the blueish toned white. However, I’m all looks with this app right now and truth is that the all over design and UI of this app is very outdated. It really needs to be dusted off and redesigned for a more modern day fit to accommodate these Apple devices.

During initial setup, the app has trouble connecting to the wifi hotspot of a newly released Dreamscreen HD, even when all devices are in one room (including wifi router). You have to do several attempts before it finally adds the Dreamscreen device. This was on iPhone 7 and Netgear R7000 router.After setup is complete (hopefully) the app would frequently disconnect from Dreamscreen but behave like it's still connected, so you would make changes in the app like color and setting, but they would not be received/saved by Dreamscreen device. The only workaround is to kill the app and open it again. It seems the app cannot hold a connection to the Dreamscreen device for too long and it doesn't know when it loses it.Update: Latest v1.6 version is still having disconnect issues.

Get used to getting up and switching the module on and off manually. App is garbage. Took 3 hours during initial setup and multiple “tricks” to catch the wifi. If I’m lucky the app can find the device after 20-30 mins of messing with it. My entire home is “smart”, with some of the most powerful equipment money can buy as far as router and modem and top of the line wifi service. Outside of the app being complete junk and in a wireless and tech savvy world this being almost archaic, the product itself is pretty cool when you turn it on. Recc: Buy the product, buy a Fitbit, and track your steps getting up and down turning the piece of junk on and off. Definitely wouldn’t buy again and won’t expand to other TVs knowing how bad the app is, but keeping it since I have it installed on my 85 inch and isn’t worth the hassle to take down and return for a few hundred bucks
