UPDATE- After posting my previous review the app developer not only responded but also made some changes based on the review. I appreciate the responsiveness and am looking forward to next weekend’s games to try out the new version of this app. It looks great, so much clearer than the all orange layout. Thank you Rylan for your consideration and willingness to make additional changes. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have been using this app for a couple of years and I really liked it. But the latest update is terrible. Everything is orange which makes it very hard to glance down and hit the right button. Also the misses and makes are reversed from how they used to be. The older version of the app was much easier to read and having red for misses and green for makes made it easy to glance down and hit the right button. Please consider changing up the color scheme. This all orange thing just doesn’t work.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m sorry for your frustration. I actually agree with you. I made a change over the weekend. I have reverted back the red and green buttons for makes and misses. However, the reason for them being reversed was because mathematically it made more sense having it match the formula being displayed. For example, 2 made / 4 total attempts = 50%. I hope you don’t mind the makes on the left now. Good idea, having me switch the colors back to red and green. Thanks. Please consider leaving an updated review. It helps others find and use the app with more 5 star reviews. Enjoy.
Just what I needed

I have been using this app for about a year now. Originally found it looking for a way to keep track of points scored during the travel season. After each game I would send a screenshot of the scorecard out to the fam. This year she started playing Varsity so I upgraded to the higher pay tier. I mainly want to keep season total average/stats in case she sticks with it. Only two suggestions:1) allow me to plot her made/missed shot locations on a half-court map so we can see where she needs to improve and2) in the player editing, move ‘Edit Player’ further away from ‘delete player.’ Opposite functions should not be adjacent in good app design. Thanks for the app! Counting on you guys to keep it going for at least the next 6 yrs! (Daughter in 7th grade…NBD!) :)

Love all the updates!

The developer, just added a stop watch feature. I love it! Nice work. My kids love it when I pay attention to their games and keep their stats. This is levels above keeping stats on the back of a receipt from my purse, which is what I was doing before I found this app. I love the easy send feature at the end of the game. I text stats to my kids, who enjoy looking over them and in turn send them to family members and friends. My oldest is a high school senior hoping to play basketball in college. We have sent her stats to college recruiters. It looks so professional. Very organized!

Great app overall

The paid version of the app works exactly how you’d expect. The interface is super intuitive and it’s easy to edit things after the fact. The only thing I wish it could handle better is not defaulting to a resume or cancel screen when I go to another app on my phone. I like to switch back and forth between photos/videos and the stats and this extra screen makes it a bit clunky and I’m always worried I am going to accidentally hit cancel and lose everything I have already entered. I also haven’t quite figured out what happens with the running minutes when you leave the screen. I thought it paused the timer but later there were suddenly 30 minutes. So that was a bit confusing.

Sorry, you’re disappointed and expecting more for free. Yes, Free plan is only 1 game at a time, which is enough for most people, because they just want to share that game result with family and friends. To unlock unlimited games and stats tracking that’s behind a paid wall (like every other App on the market). Please email support@sportssimplestats.com and I’m happy to give you a free trial to see if it’s worth paying. Hope to work with you directly so you can see if it’s worthwhile. Thanks.
- When a game is closed on accident, and the app is restarted, it now asks immediately if the user wants to resume the game without having to start a new game manually. No game stats will be lost as a results anymore.
- Better user interface with some cleaner backgrounds and touch cell interactions.
