It may be early to say this after one day’s use, but White Border looks very, very much like the ideal no crop app for Instagram posts. The App Store is absolutely silly with these, but you’ve likely discovered that they have big flaws: they tend to be slow and clunky, forcing a long wait after exporting each photo. Many are also bloated with photo editing features that belong in a different app. White Borders is perfect for a heavy posting workflow: it’s fast, has few unnecessary options, and even lets you mass select up to 10 photos at once to add borders with one click. Makes doing a 10-image post with mixed orientations a two-minute process instead of ten. And it costs three bucks to remove ads for good! Tao Zhang is a superstar.UPDATE: After using the app for a while, it absolutely does bear out the strong first impression — it’s simple, easy, and quick to do exactly what it’s supposed to. Blows any other app I’ve tried for this purpose out of the water. The one flaw I’d point out is that if you have photos in a lot of albums it’s hard to find the one you want — they seem to be listed in a random order. I’d appreciate search, or at least alphabetic order, or even better support for the folder system so you can organize them.

This is a wonderful app and more importantly, the developer cares about the app and listens. I’d give it ten stars if I could. Thank you. Original review: The app needs a back button. Add this feature and I’ll change this to five stars in a second. It’s needs a back button. I’m going through a folder of hundred of photos. I have a few that are similar, from the same shoot. They’re right next to each other in my photos app. I want to quickly see which one looks the best in the white border. So I open the White Border app, pull up the photo folder, scroll up until I find the group of photos I’m looking for, then select the first one. It looks okay, but I want to see the others as a comparison. This is where the problem is. I can’t go back. There is no back button that returns me to the same part of the folder I was in. Instead, I have to start over. Select the folder. Scroll until I find the group of photos. Select a different one while trying to remember exactly how the first one looked. It’s an inefficient nightmare that can be easily solved. I paid for the app, but I need this functionality or I can’t continue using it or recommending it. Please help. 1st: It's tiny. 50Mb if I recall? That's a big plus for me, most of the other border apps are around 150Mb and bloated w nonsense. This is tiny, does its job perfectly, and didn't bombard me with ads. ☺️Thus I will never delete it. This makes uploading content to instagram ADDICTIVE! Which you of course want. It brings a joy to formatting images. The simplicity and design is perfection, seamless & easy to use. The color grabber is so lovely... and uploading takes a second. The only thing I would like is maybe to have an option to insert the image of something else in the border? Like another picture of my choosing would be lovely as I'm a photographer and I would not want generic clouds, for example. Or perhaps a pattern. I know that may crowd the app so maybe that's not feasible. Oh also an option to set it to "instagram size" or w/e app because sometimes I use this for drawings and the image is still cut off. Could be an instagram problem though. Lastly there was an issue once when exporting once where I exported the image and an ad popped up, it played but even I wanted to go back it instead sent me straight to the App Store to download, so i exited. The image actually hadn't downloaded bc the ad got in the way. That was a one-time thing and now I make sure to download everything 3 times just in case. It only takes a second so it's no biggie. That's also not the apps fault, it was the advertiser and the ad was a mini game I didn't mind playing for five seconds. 😁

i was searching for an app that would add a white border around my picture without chopping into my picture, making it smaller. this app is everything i was looking for; it creates a white border around the picture while leaving the picture the same size, unless you zoom in or out but only making the border bigger/smaller still not chopping into the picture. i needed this in order to post close up selfies on instagram & they look the best they ever have. will definitely keep using this app for every post in the future.
