This is a straightforward app to help you achieve a chosen mind-state by generating what are known as "binaural beat audio waves" through your headphones, either from your iOS device or your Apple Watch.
Depending on the frequency that you pick, based on the chart included in the app, it can potentially help with sleep, meditation, relaxation, or even for getting a short burst of energy.
I have used similar apps for a while and have found them useful in helping me relax, or helping me float into a creative mood - Except most are overloaded with features that I never use and also cost money, have in-app purchases for "special programmes" and so on.
So I decided to build one that does the same, works offline, has no ads or spying, works well, and is free. There's also an Apple Watch app included which you can use if you're mediating or relaxing away from your phone.
As such, this app just generates the binaural frequency audio hum, and some optional white or brown noise to help mask outside sounds. You can then put it in the background and combine its audio with any other sound generator you like, or play music, radio, and so forth. All it does is to create the useful brainwave frequency, and then it gets out of your way.
Love that I can completely customize the frequencies, tones, and noise type - and that I can also play music or listen to podcasts while it’s on - although I tend to use it on its own most of the time. My top pick for improvement would be full shortcut support - but as it is the app supports URL calls so I have this automatically start playing when I initiated a focus mode, and stop when I turn off the focus mode - it just ends up opening the app everytime. I do think some ready made configurations or configurable presets would be great, as well as the auto-pilot feature another reviewer mentioned - but that’s icing on an already great cake. Thank you to the developer for making this app free, simple & effective. Really appreciate it.
App go Oooooooooo

I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to for this one. I’ve tried a dozen or so binaural beats apps. Ninety nine percent of them are loaded with battery draining ads / graphics and designed like a teenager’s identity crisis — typically either patchouli-stank chakras and crystals, or edgyXcore cyberpunk aesthetic (you know the one I’m talking about). This one stands out. It has all the features you need, and none of the stuff it doesn’t. The only thing it’s missing is something to tell you which brain waves you’re stimulating (alpha, theta, etc.) The ability to ramp frequencies up and down over time would be great too, but even without those features, this is all the app you need. It’s simple, clean and functional.
Oooo!

Just found this app. I have tried and still use lots of apps to help me sleep, concentrate, and relax. Oooo is amazing! Right away I loved how customizable it is. As soon as I picked a frequency and then adjusted the tone I realized how important it is to be able to adjust these things for yourself. As I adjusted the tone, I was able to pick something that felt soothing. It just felt “right”.I’ve only had this app for one day and I already plan on recommending it to family and friends.
Fantastic.

I used an an app for Many years simply called - binaural beats. It was simple, no fuss and able to play behind other apps just like this one. Then, one day, it was gone :( but wait - now there’s Ooooo!!!Love it. ONLY piece of feedback I have for the dev (god bless your soul) is an auto-pilot feature like that app used to have. Where you can start out at say, 21hz, and select auto-pilot on down to a meditative 6hz over the span of 10-20 minutes, etc. It was a great feature that helped to entrain the brainwaves gradually to the desired wave form, as opposed to just trying to smack your beta hz brain into a 7hz meditative state right away.FWIW, If you add that feature; I would gladly pay $5 for it/the app. Thanks again man!
Added an ending/sleep timer.
