As another reviewer has remarked if your Raspberry Pi is old or if your phone is old, there will be a lag. But overall. The app and the software it works with function remarkably well, considering how little it costs to put together a system that will stream lossless music and allow one to repurpose an ancient stereo and speakers for the digital age. It should be noted that Volumio uses Wi-Fi and not Bluetooth, ensuring every bit and byte passes from your file to your ears.

I love this app for streaming lossless subscription service. I have only used related features, I don’t have a large collection of music on hard drives, so do not have any experience with that. It does freeze and is sometimes really slow, but the features are great and - i often share a stream to multiple pi- sourced stereos around my house for background music, which is a great feature. It sometimes needs a reboot to get the pi’s to share, so I’m hoping there are improvements in the pipeline. I also assume that all my problems with the system are on the pi side, not iOS. All in all, this system is worth the hassles, and hopefully it’ll continue to improve.

It makes lot of difference as opposed to switching on your desktop which is in other room from where your stereo setup is, makes it handy controlling from your iphone selecting your songs playing them and control your stereo knobs at the same time. I simply love this app, it enhanced my DIY experience with my raspberry pi. Well I will post again after using it for some time hence 4 stars.
