The app brings together all relevant information from all systems in a knowledge hub. With the help of an intelligent search, you can find the service knowledge you need in your company at any time. Use the mobile version of Empolis Service Express® without any functional difference to the desktop version.

Create and share service knowledge:
Create and edit new service notes directly in the app. Add further solution steps, photos or videos to existing service knowledge and share it directly with your team colleagues.

If you are unable to solve a problem, the app offers you the opportunity to find a solution together with colleagues and experts. Community and Team Knowledge identifies the right contacts based on their skills and automatically creates a corresponding chat. As soon as a joint solution has been found, the chat is closed, and the solution is saved for the future.
Data security:
The knowledge captured and your data are stored securely on German servers. Thanks to the Privacy Shield, you can always guarantee that your information and customer data is handled securely in accordance with the strict European data security guidelines.

Search – As an administrator, you can now configure an empty state page for the case when the search returns no results. You can define up to three action links to encourage users to request help through various channels (e.g., phone or e-mail).
Spotlight Search – You can now access your bookmark folders and subscriptions directly from the operating system’s Spotlight Search without having to open the app first. Simply search for the folder or subscription name in Spotlight Search.
Procedures – The questions and options of a form are now expanded automatically when proceeding through procedures.
Search mode – You can now switch the search mode directly from the Search page. No need to access the Settings page anymore.

Workspace – The My Files page has been renamed to Workspace and completely redesigned. You can now get an overview of your bookmarks, downloads and more at a glance.
Procedures:
Procedure sessions have been added as an optional premium feature. If this feature is enabled, you can pause a procedure session at any point. Paused sessions are listed in the Workspace area, where you can rename, resume, or close them as needed. If you are interested in purchasing this feature, please contact Empolis support or your Empolis representative.
Improved the internal handling of sessions after finishing successfully.

Widgets on home screen – You can now add several new widgets to the home screen of your device. Note that the widgets will only show content if you are logged in to the app. The following new widgets are available:
Search – Quickly access the Search page of the app. You can resize the widget to also display buttons for quick access to the other pages of the app, e.g. My Files or Community.
Downloads – Directly access your downloaded files from your home screen.
Bookmarks – Directly access your bookmarked files from your home screen.
Bookmarks – You can now download an entire folder and its contents to your device as a ZIP archive. This also works in offline mode. In offline mode, only those bookmarked files which are listed on the Downloads tab of the My Files page can be downloaded.

Widgets – The External Content widget now supports an automatic log-in to the target site if the target is within the Empolis domain.
Community & Team Knowledge – You can now use your operating system's Share function to directly add images and files to an open problem. Note that you must be logged in to the app for this to work.
Procedures – Improved the internal behavior when a user leaves a procedure, e.g. by closing the procedure or rating the found solution.

Video playback – In online mode, playback of videos now starts more quickly. Previously, videos had to be downloaded completely before you could start watching them. Now, playback starts after a portion of the file is downloaded, and the download continues in the background.
Procedures – The procedure history now has better support for procedures which contain cycles.
App introduction – The design of the app introduction was updated and now features animated graphics.
Third-party integration – If you opened the app from a third-party application, for example a ticket system, the app can now provide a link which will return you to the calling application.
App lock – When unlocking the app, you are now immediately prompted to scan your fingerprint or face without having to tap a button first.
Single sign-on – If the app does not open automatically after clicking on a single sign-on link, you are now directed to a web page with further options.

My files:
When searching for a folder on the “My files > Bookmarks” page, the result list now shows the correct file count.
Notifications on the “Subscriptions” page are now displayed in the correct language after the language is changed in the app settings.
Notes:
When selecting filters to add to a note, the list now correctly shows the available filters.
The dialog for accessing the camera is no longer cropped when you rotate the screen.
Dark mode – Fixed a display problem with user notifications in dark mode.
Community & Team Knowledge – The “Ask community” button on an empty search result list is no longer displayed if the user does not have permission to use the Community & Team Knowledge feature.

New functions and improvements in 4.30
My Files > Downloads:
You are now informed with a notification about files that had to be deleted from your download list because they are no longer available on the server.
You can now delete all downloaded files from your download list at once. An alert displayed before deletion will inform you about the number of files to delete and their total size.
Server configuration:
It is now much easier to provide server configurations such as to enable the app for SSO (single sign-on). Add a new server by simply scanning a suitable QR code or importing an SSO link from your clipboard – no tedious typing anymore. QR code and SSO link must be provided by your administrator.
When tapping an SSO link while logged in to another server, you will now be asked for confirmation before logging you out and applying the server configuration. Remember that logging out from the app deletes all downloaded files.

My Files > Downloads – Fixed an issue that occurred when trying to delete a large number of files from the download list.
Offline mode – Fixed an issue that prevented attachments, the solutions preview, and other additional information from being displayed correctly for some procedure steps.
Language support – All requests now fall back correctly to English when switching to a user interface language that is not a supported project language.

Widgets on home screen—You can now add the new “Community” widget to your device's home screen. The widget shows you the latest open problems being discussed in your community, right on your home screen.
Search with Siri – You can now create a Siri shortcut easily by tapping “Add to Siri” on the “Search” page. Simply follow the instructions on the screen to record the phrase that should trigger the search in Service Express.
AI Assistants – You can now let the AI Assistant create summaries of the top three search results. Similarly, the AI Assistant can summarize the current document in the viewer.
Community & Team Knowledge – Improved the messages informing about user actions in the community.
News – The news entries are now also accessible from the “Search” page. This is particularly helpful for users whose home page does not include the “News” widget.
Procedures – The “Internal” and “External” fields in the additional information section are no longer visible to users without any tree role.

Bookmarks – Fixed an issue that occurred when deleting folders in My Files > Bookmarks.
Procedures – Fixed an issue with unsupported characters that prevented the procedure description from displaying correctly in the viewer.
Viewer:
Fixed an issue with slashes in file names that prevented these files from opening in the viewer.
Attachments of notes and service cases in PDF format are now displayed correctly in the viewer with all display options for PDF.

App protection – You can now enable biometric authentification in the app settings. If enabled, the app is locked when it is closed or moved to the background. To unlock, you need to authenticate with Face ID or a fingerprint.
Start Screen Widgets – You can now add the News and History widgets to the start screen of their device. While the app is running in the background, these widgets will show the same content as the News and History widgets on the home page in the app.
Feedback – Text feedback can now be up to 2,000 characters long.

* Procedures – Added support for forms in procedures with multiple questions and answers per page. Forms have various use cases: For example, support your service staff when maintaining devices by providing them a form containing the required operating steps, which they can work through systematically just like a checklist. Forms support the full feature range of the guided troubleshooting functionality (dynamic content, procedure history, API access, and automated session evaluation). PDF Documents – You can now electronically sign PDF documents. This works for documents that you find via the search, as well as exported procedure logs.
AI Assistant – The AI Assistant is now available for all users with the appropriate permissions. The feature “Empolis Buddy” is no longer required to use this function.
Procedures – The “Internal” field in the additional information is now only visible to users whose user profile has one of the legacy roles “Experte”, “Editor”, or “Normal” assigned. All other users only see the “External” field.
General – Various internal improvements to make the app ready for iOS 18.

Procedures:
Provided support for the new answer type “multi-selection answers”, allowing users to select multiple answers for a question. The new answer type is an optional feature, please contact Empolis if you are interested.
The exported procedure history (PDF) now includes links to uploaded files and a preview for each uploaded image. This feature requires the “File upload” answer type. Please contact Empolis if you are interested.
Downloads – You will now receive a notification when downloading a single file, which you can click to switch to the “My Files” > “Downloads” area immediately.
Deep links – By adding support for app-specific schemas (e.g. “eseua://), you can now build deep links that point directly to the app, which means that these links do not provide the option to open the linked content in the web app (Knowledge Portal) instead.
Online help – The online help now opens in a full-width window for better user experience.
Custom apps – The option “Share Usage Data” was removed from the Settings page.
