Smart TV Remote is designed specifically to control Sony Smart TVs. The remote control app offers a wide range of buttons that are available on a physical remote control, an easy to use touchpad for navigation through the content and a list of apps installed on TV. To control your Sony TV, make sure that your TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device. Launch Smart TV Remote app, select your Sony TV from the list of detected devices and enter the PIN displayed on the TV screen into the app. TV control has never been easier. The app features all the necessary buttons. You no longer have to look for your Sony TV remote control or buy a new one in order to replace the one broken down. Multifunctional touchpad will allow you to easily scroll through the lists of new movies and music, choose your favorite content. With Smart TV Remote app you can easily launch apps installed on your TV, such as Netflix, Youtube or a web-browser. Smart TV Remote turns your iPhone or iPad into a smart remote control for your Sony TV. Main features: - Automatic detection of Sony TV in the Wi-Fi network; - All the necessary buttons for controlling the TV (Sony TV remote); - A large touchpad for convenient menu and content navigation; - Launching of TV applications directly from the iOS app; Premium Subscription User can subscribe for unlimited access to Premium features. Paid, it works, has one annoying flaw

Let me start by saying that all of the complaints about the ads on the free version should be immediately dismissed. Someone spent their time and resources developing this app and you should be thankful they even have a free version. Instead of being an entitled brat that expects a free handout, how about you pony up FIVE DOLLARS and support the developer? This will accomplish a few things: 1. It will incentivize the developer to improve the app2. You won’t see ads3. You’re supporting a small business4. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll start approaching life with an “earn it” mentality and actually make something of yourselfAnywho, all sermons aside, the app works well. I experience some lag every once in a while. This isn’t a huge deal since I mainly use the app when I’m holding my child and can’t grab the actual remote. For $5, this is a value-add that I really appreciate.

Sony TV with AppleTV and want to control it from your phone in one place? This is the app without 1,000 different gimmicks. It does everything I want but one thing which is not remotely a showstopper, the 15s forward/back buttons. Other than that I find this a one stop app to do everything I want with my Sony TV with AppleTV.To get on my soapbox for a moment, I agree with another review I read. This person built this app with their own blood, sweat, and tears. Nothing in life is free so either deal with the ads or buy the app. Stop whining that they should spend their time to make something free for you to use.

APP works great! Need to manually turn on the TV first though.

Pay the few bucks for the app. In a perfect world the app would only be available for purchase. I really don’t like when the cheaper apps like this one have a free version. It makes it seem like a worse app than it is. It really works well. I only wish iPhone had the IR sensor so they could power on my device as well. Perhaps have an option to buy one for a cheap price with the purchase of the app. Anyway I’m happy with it.
APP works great! Need to manually turn on the TV first though.

The remote sensor went out on nearly brand new TV. I couldn’t even turn my tv on and off. I tried other remote control apps but they were clunky and didn’t work well. This one is seamless, fast, and gives me access to everything a traditional remote would.
